Last week, I did all the paperwork for our outdoor season in Central Park this year. Believe it or not, I have been an under-the-radar, fiercely independent singer/songwriter for over 25 years now. I’m a very, very lucky man and maybe the luckiest independent artist I know.

And my newest play “The Green Room” is in the process of being cast. Okay, it’s a bizarre process in a lot of ways, but I’ll update you guys here as things progress.

For the past 25 years I have made a living and a Life as an artist. Okay it’s been almost completely under-the-radar, but that almost makes it more fascinating to me. I’m not a famous artist — just one who writes songs and sings them for people… hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people. I’m just a man who writes plays and experiences amazing actors bringing them to Life. I live a life in which one day rarely resembles the day before… because new ideas, new dreams and new possibilities are born almost every day.

And today, I find myself sitting on top of 3 incredible Creative projects that seem to be exploding into the world as I’m writing this: the new play “The Green Room” – the video for the song “Dreamers Like Me” – and the Creation of a NEW MUSICAL… which is the off-spring of the workshopped musical “Possibility Junkie”.

It’s a fascinating ride!

I pretty much disconnected from The States the whole time I was doing that gig in Mexico for about 11 days or so. And just before returning to the U.S. I was struck by the overwhelming feeling for the first time in my life,” I honestly don’t know what kind of country to expect when I get home.” You guys have been dealing with the abject embarrassment that IS Donald J Trump. You’ve been getting the news and living with this fast-developing insanity over that time. But for the most part, for 11 days I was all about sharing music and laughs, stories and thoughts and feelings with around 600 sweet people. I had wonderful conversations with so many of the kind, beautiful people of Mexico.

So when I got back and turned on the news… I was overwhelmed at what I saw. If you voted for Trump and you’re not outraged at what you’re now witnessing, you’re either an idiot or a someone I do not want to know. For me, it’s fascinating at the same time that it’s infuriating. But if you feel like me, I’ll keep showing up if you will! My heart is still very calmly and purposefully on fire since the election of Donald Trump. 10 days after that election I was telling friends, “I’ve a feeling that the reaction to this by good people is going to be both swift and dramatic… in a very good way.” And I now feel that Trump supporters, through their fear and their votes, have poked a sleeping giant. Since the days of my first podcast “I Love the Company”, back during the Bush nightmare and the Iraq War I have been dreaming of and longing for a day when I would see the people of this country wake up and take to the streets again… as it was in the Vietnam days. THANK YOU. It’s happening.

I’m a very, very lucky man and maybe the luckiest independent artist I know.

And my newest play “The Green Room” is in the process of being cast. Okay, it’s a bizarre process in a lot of ways, but I’ll update you guys here as things progress.

Y’know what? Today… I think I’ll just post a whole bunch of fun photos, songs and videos.

Okay, and now you’ll see why I’m excited about my newest song. I have a feeling it might actually make it’s way into the score of a new musical I’m developing. These things are so inter-connected lately. It’s amazing.

For the past 25 years I have made a living and a Life as an artist. Okay it’s been almost completely under-the-radar, but that almost makes it more fascinating to me. I’m not a famous artist — just one who writes songs and sings them for people… hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people. I’m just a man who writes plays and experiences amazing actors bringing them to Life. I live a life in which one day rarely resembles the day before… because new ideas, new dreams and new possibilities are born almost every day.

And today, I find myself sitting on top of 3 incredible Creative projects that seem to be exploding into the world as I’m writing this: the new play “The Green Room” – the video for the song “Dreamers Like Me” – and the Creation of a NEW MUSICAL… which is the off-spring of the workshopped musical “Possibility Junkie”.

I’m still living this Life with open arms and Love, but ZERO tolerance for people who voted for or continue to support the abomination that is Donald J Trump. As the song says, “I hope they feel like joining us someday.” but until that day, the rest of us have work to do!!!

THANKS AGAIN for a PRETTY AMAZING RIDE…

Thanks to everyone who showed up for the LIVE online gig this weekend. We’ll get together again next Sunday at the regular time. (5:00 eastern) And after being injected with another dose of enthusiasm by a few million people around the globe… I’m ready to see what this week has in store. Man, I gotta say… when I’m really paying attention I’m totally amazed at this ride. Think about it.

This week’s events were truly historic in nature. There’s no denying that. thank you to every single one of you who showed up… in whatever way you are able.

Okay, I just played a nearly sold-out Merkin Concert Hall in December and shared the stage with the usual incredibly beautiful and gifted fellow-artists. We laughed as much as we sang. A brand new songbook with 28 of my original songs was released. And I opened the show with a song I had written a few days before in reaction to the recent election and the abject embarrassment that is Donald J Trump.
