Will I see you?

TOMORROW!

We’re gonna get out to “The Hill” in Central Park again tomorrow. I’ll crank up around 1:00 and play all afternoon, until around 5 0r 5:30… or until I fall over… whichever comes first.

Right now the weather looks like it’s gonna cooperate and we have the paperwork, so we’re all set to spend another afternoon of music and laughs, thoughts and feelings and… Love.

THERE ARE A TON OF PHOTOS FURTHER DOWN THE PAGE!

Looks like we’ll also do a special LIVE stream of “It’s Just Us” from “The Hill. We’ll start streaming LIVE at 3:30

Quick aside — I’m still living this Life with open arms and Love, but ZERO tolerance for people who voted for or continue to support the abomination that is TRUMPISM. As my song says, “I hope they feel like joining us someday.” But until that day, the rest of us have work to do!!!

“It’s Just Us”

Hey listen! We’re still hangin’ out LIVE twice a week. On Wednesdays, we go LIVE at 4:00 (eastern). On Saturdays we stream LIVE from Central Park, starting at 3:30. And we always stream LIVE from my studio in The Heights on the days we’re not at “The Hill” so check back.

We started doing it at the onset of the pandemic, but it’s so much fun and we’ve made so many wonderful friends that we’re gonna keep it going. COME JOIN US!

Y’know, even as I make the transition from singer/songwriter to a career as a playwright, I still have a LOT of music to share with you guys! So we’ll keep doing these online gigs. So in the meantime, if you would like to become a patron, click on that banner up there.

We sing together. We dance together. And we don’t even hafta leave our homes. Fun people from New York City, California, West Virginia, Maine, Missouri, Indiana, Long Island, The Netherlands, The UK, Spain, Estonia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Las Vegas, North Carolina, Arkansas, Maryland…

Thanks for being in the audience

Last year we took a run at a magnificent theatrical experiment and a lot of were a part of it… maybe the most important part. The audience. I assembled a cast of Tony Award winners, veteran actors, exciting newcomers… just incredible artists to do a LIVE online reading of this audacious script. (Chuck Cooper, Austin Pendleton, Jillian Louis, Teresa Reynolds, Jamal Thomas, David Andino, Paul Olson — stage directions read by Gretchen Cryer)

Looks like this play has found a few Creative champions to move it to Broadway, probably later this year. It will be my first on Broadway and kick the door open for a few other plays and musicals. I’ll let you all know!!!

After the reading that night we’ll all retreated back to my Facebook page for comments and discussion. It was very cool. Before that, during the height of the pandemic, we enjoyed a LIVE reading of my newest play “GREEN ROOM”.

Many of you know I’ve been making a transition from a Life as a songwriter to a career as a playwright. I feels like the time is right to sit in the dark with you guys and allow my characters to help hasten the day that “religion” becomes a memory for the human race. A percentage of my work is always dedicated to that goal… but I have my own fun way of making that a reality one day.

It’s so difficult…

Hang out with us LIVE today!

We’ll do a Special Edition of “It’s Just Us” at 6:00 (eastern)

If it turns out you need the ID and the Passcode to enter, here they are.

Meeting ID: 859 0813 5390

Passcode: 828373

Okay, it was around 70º yesterday. But a cold front blew through New York City last night. And the cut-off conditions are 60º and sunny or my fingers won’t work on the fret board the way I need them to. (The Sun doesn’t offer much help this time of year.)

So I need to pass on Central Park today and hang out with as many people as I can LIVE online.

Honestly… you guys have NO idea how difficult it is to make the call when we decide to pass on “The Hill”. So many factors go into the process. But ultimately it’s about the best way to maintain Peace of Mind and spirit as we share music and laughs together. That means, it’s gonna be a LATE one for you kids across the ocean… around midnight, I think.

Lucky man…

Thanks for being in my corner

Between a lull in NYC tourism, excessive summer heat, Parks Department bureaucracy, or even  the rain associated with Hurricane Ian… it’s been very weird out there on “The Hill”. On the few occasions we actually made it to “The Hill” in 2022, the crowds have been about 75% of those we’re used to. But there also seems to be a pall, a strange “mood” hanging over the people since the arrival of pandemics and Trumpism. In all my 31 years as “That Guitar Man from Central Park”, this has been the most challenging season financially.

So as I make the transition from a Life as a singer/songwriter to a career as a playwright I wanna THANK each and every one of you who shows up for the music and the smiles.

And I’m going to ask for your help… one mo’ time before we all get together at “The Something’th Annual Year End Concert”!

A LOT of us are hurting financially, especially my fellow artists. Things have been rough. That’s certainly true for me. I never “worry”. I’ve been living this extraordinary Life for over 30 years and I’m still here!!!

BUT… if you’re doing okay and would like to help me get through the end of this year, through the rentals of rehearsals spaces, through the expenses that come with producing a major concert… and through the expenses of everyday living in NYC, I’m gonna do a little drive to make up for a devastatingly lean year in Central Park.

HERE ARE SOME WAYS TO HELP

And if you like to use VENMO… you can scan this image or use the screen name @thatguitarman

And…

I’ll see you LIVE online this Wednesday and then in-person this coming Saturday. (Weather permitting)

Quick aside — I’m still living this Life with open arms and Love, but ZERO tolerance for people who voted for or continue to support the abomination that is TRUMPISM. As my song says, “I hope they feel like joining us someday.” But until that day, the rest of us have work to do!!!

WE ALL CREATE TOGETHER

Over the course of the past 2+ years we started to Create music videos together… to help keep us sane and connected. Here’s one of the most recent videos that a bunch of you jumped in on.

Last time we were at “The Hill” in Central Park we enJoyed another “typically amazing” afternoon of music and laughs, thoughts and feelings and… Love. THERE ARE A TON OF PHOTOS FURTHER DOWN THE PAGE! We did a special LIVE stream of “It’s Just Us” from “The Hill”. It was great to see people hanging with us LIVE from Florida, Maine, North Carolina, The UK, The Netherlands… Quick aside — I’m still living this Life with open arms and Love, but ZERO tolerance for people who voted for or continue to support the abomination that is TRUMPISM. “It’s Just Us”

Hey listen! We’re still hangin’ out LIVE twice a week. On Wednesdays, we go LIVE at 4:00 (eastern). On Saturdays we stream LIVE from Central Park, starting at 3:30. And we always stream LIVE from my studio in The Heights on the days we’re not at “The Hill”.

Y’know, even as I make the transition from singer/songwriter to a career as a playwright, I still have a LOT of music to share with you guys! So we’ll keep doing these online gigs. So in the meantime, if you would like to become a patron, click on that banner up there.

WHAT A RIDE!
