Today on “The Weekly Show”…

SONGS of LOVE, PEACE, and PROTEST

No kidding.

My heart is still on fire from yesterday. Since the days of my first podcast “I Love the Company”, back during the Bush nightmare and the Iraq War I have been dreaming of and longing for a day when I would see the people of this country wake up and take to the streets again as it was in the Vietnam days. THANK YOU  to every one of you who showed up.

LET’S GET TOGETHER TODAY!!!  Okay?

LIVE online! We can chat about it as I play songs like…

Imagine – Where’s the Voice – The Last Protest Song – Get Together – One Tin Soldier – Ohio – For What It’s Worth – Blowin’ in the Wind… and my newest anthem – DREAMERS LIKE ME  –  (I might even try to pull “I Am Woman” put of the attic in honor of yesterday’s march!)

Join us, and please email a friend or two in another city or another country and ask them to meet you in there. Send them this link:

IT’S ACTUALLY EASY!

Here’s a feel good video from our “Year End Concert” at Merkin Concert Hall here in New York City a month ago. And then, if you scroll down some more, I’m gonna share the new song which is my personal “Anti-Trump” rallying anthem… “DREAMERS LIKE ME”. And then further down, I’ll share a few more examples of why I feel like the luckiest man alive.

First, the concert video…

Okay, and now you’ll see why I’m excited about my newest song. I have a feeling it might actually make it’s way into the score of a new musical I’m developing. These things are so inter-connected lately. It’s amazing.

So I think you get the idea…

For the past 25 years I have made a living and a Life as an artist. Okay it’s been almost completely under-the-radar, but that almost makes it more fascinating to me. I’m not a famous artist — just one who writes songs and sings them for people… hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people. I’m just a man who writes plays and experiences amazing actors bringing them to Life. I live a life in which one day rarely resembles the day before… because new ideas, new dreams and new possibilities are born almost every day.

Okay, I just played a nearly sold-out Merkin Concert Hall in December and shared the stage with the usual incredibly beautiful and gifted fellow-artists. We laughed as much as we sang. A brand new songbook with 28 of my original songs was released. And I opened the show with a song I ad written a few days before in reaction to the recent election.

But today, I find myself sitting on top of 3 incredible Creative projects that seem to be exploding into the world as I’m writing this: the new play “The Green Room” – the video for the song “Dreamers Like Me” – and the Creation of a NEW MUSICAL… which is the off-spring of the workshopped musical “Possibility Junkie”.

Look… scroll through some photos to give you and idea what I’m talking about.

I’m still living this Life with open arms and Love, but ZERO tolerance for people who voted for or continue to support the abomination that is Donald J Trump. As the song says, “I hope they feel like joining us someday.” but until that day, the rest of us have work to do!!!

ROCK ON!

We plan on releasing at least 2 different versions of this song..

There’s always lots of really current and fun stuff on FACEBOOK, too. You can send a friend request and join me over there: https://www.facebook.com/david.thatguitarman
