TOMORROW!!!

…our last SUNDAY edition of “The WEEKLY SHOW”

Tomorrow will be our last SUNDAY segment of “The Weekly Show”… streaming LIVE from my apartment. Starting next week we will back streaming from Central Park on Saturday afternoons.

We’re 1 week away from another season together in Central Park. But we have one more Sunday together weekend before that happens, so let’s hang out right here online. I’ll stream LIVE from my apartment, okay?

Seriously… at 5:00 tomorrow (eastern time)

We’ll chat about all the shit that went down this week. I’ll bring the guitar. Y’see… in the off-season, a bunch of us get together LIVE online every Sunday.  Join us if you feel like it. There’s a chat room so you can make requests or just chat with the other people hanging out! All you hafta do is log-in and join us. Go to the Concert Window and set it up right now, okay? (Don’t be spooked by the “credit card” thing. We’ve been doing this for over a year. It’s safe and it really, really does cost you as little or a much as you wanna pay. Whatever you want.)

I’ll be sharing the newest song… the one I just wrote… the one to rally all like-minded people of reason.

OH!!! By the way… I am raising money again for the “Permit Fund”. It’s just something I do every year if you feel like being a part of the gig and helping to take care of some of the overhead involved in getting out to Central Park on Saturdays throughout the summer. All of the permit fees are paid for… the Special Events Permits and the Sound Device Permits from the NYPD. But… if you think you would like to help out in that regard, every year I do a little something called the “Permit Fund”. (It’s only there if you can afford to help and if you feel like it.)

And thank YOU for showing up here today. If you’re new around here… WELCOME! If you don’t follow me on Facebook, go there now and then keep checking back.

If you’re new around here or you don’t know what any of the means, let me explain.

Every Saturday afternoon for the past 25 years I have been known in this town as “That Guitar Man from Central Park”. I just head out to a spot by a grassy little hill right near The Lake, I put my guitar on my shoulder… and something amazing happens. I really feel like the luckiest man alive.

Since that very first day in 1992 when I went out to Central Park with a guitar to make a little extra lunch money, my Life has become a movie… I mean, just a ridiculously unique Life that is truly beyond anything I could have imagined all those years ago. Spring is coming, so I plan to head out there again to share music and laughs, thoughts and stories and feelings with a few hundred thousand of my closest friends and people from all across the country and from different parts of the world.

dreamers-site1

I know. I know. For reasonable, sane people this is another tough week. But we’re in it together and we have work to do. I’m gonna start off today with a feel good video from our “Year End Concert” at Merkin Concert Hall here in New York City a month ago. And then, if you scroll down some more, I’m gonna share the new song which is my personal “Anti-Trump” rallying anthem… “DREAMERS LIKE ME”. And then further down, I’ll share a few more examples of why I feel like the luckiest man alive.

First, the concert video…

Today, I find myself sitting on top of 3 incredible Creative projects that seem to be exploding into the world as I’m writing this: the new play “The Green Room” – the video for the song “Dreamers Like Me” – and the Creation of a NEW MUSICAL… which is the off-spring of the workshopped musical “Possibility Junkie”.

HEY… okay… another concert video.

Here are a few images from the recent concert, captured by our photographers friends David Hayase and Sean Friedman.

I’m still living this Life with open arms and Love, but ZERO tolerance for people who voted for or continue to support the abomination that is Donald J Trump. As the song says, “I hope they feel like joining us someday.” but until that day, the rest of us have work to do!!!

ROCK ON!

We plan on releasing at least 2 different versions of this song..

There’s always lots of really current and fun stuff on FACEBOOK, too. You can send a friend request and join me over there: https://www.facebook.com/david.thatguitarman

Cool?

Thanks so much for hangin’ out.

2 weeks away from a new season…

I’M STILL HERE.

Y’know? Opening Day 2017 is gonna be on Saturday, May 6. We’re getting close. But first I hafta say THANK YOU to every single one of you who showed up this week for our “online” gig… “The Weekly Show”. And I also hafta say… it is amazing to me that we’re sharing music and laughs, doing what we do in the park after a quarter century of weekends. No kidding. Think about all we’ve seen and been through together. This year, we just might need each other more than ever.

Believe it or not, we’re a little less than 2 weeks away from beginning another outdoor season. But we can get together one last time from my apartment next SUNDAY… LIVE online. THEN we start streaming LIVE from Central Park on Saturday afternoons. Um…. wait… if you’re new around here or you don’t know what any of the means, let me explain.

Tax Day March

THANKS FOR SHOWING UP!

Thanks so much to every one of you who showed up for the ANTI-TRUMP TAX DAY PROTEST MARCH… and then for that little thing we do every weekend, LIVE online. (The Weekly Show)

After the march, I raced back uptown for another really cool online hang this week. I love being able to sit in my apartment with my guitar on my shoulder and hang out with you guys in different parts of the country and different parts of the world. It’s really very cool.

I announced that we have the first permits of 2017 so we are officially “on” for another season in Central Park!

AND!!!

Gotta tell you guys, my Creative soul is on fire these days. There is so much going on for me as a playwright and as a songwriter. A few weeks ago, I did all the paperwork for our outdoor season in Central Park this year. Believe it or not, I have been an under-the-radar, fiercely independent singer/songwriter for over 25 years now. I’m a very, very lucky man and maybe the luckiest independent artist I know.

And my newest play “The Green Room” is in the process of being cast. Okay, it’s a bizarre process in a lot of ways, but I’ll update you guys here as things progress.

Y’know what? Today… I think I’ll just post a whole bunch of fun photos, songs and videos.

And to give you a smile today… here’s a concert video from our gig at Merkin Concert Hall here in NYC last December. Man we had a good time.

First, the concert video…

Okay, and now you’ll see why I’m excited about my newest song. I have a feeling it might actually make it’s way into the score of a new musical I’m developing. These things are so inter-connected lately. It’s amazing.

So I think you get the idea…

For the past 25 years I have made a living and a Life as an artist. Okay it’s been almost completely under-the-radar, but that almost makes it more fascinating to me. I’m not a famous artist — just one who writes songs and sings them for people… hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people. I’m just a man who writes plays and experiences amazing actors bringing them to Life. I live a life in which one day rarely resembles the day before… because new ideas, new dreams and new possibilities are born almost every day.

And today, I find myself sitting on top of 3 incredible Creative projects that seem to be exploding into the world as I’m writing this: the new play “The Green Room” – the video for the song “Dreamers Like Me” – and the Creation of a NEW MUSICAL… which is the off-spring of the workshopped musical “Possibility Junkie”.

Look… scroll through some photos to give you and idea what I’m talking about.

FIRST we hit the streets. Then…

Hang with us LIVE… today!

Tomorrow is a holiday for many people. So let’s stream live from my apartment today.

Cool?

Look… I’m taking part in the protest march to demand the release of Trump’s tax returns.  Hitting the street today. But I’ll head back to grab my guitar and hang with you!!! A day earlier than usual. Let’s get together and try to stay sane! I’m streaming right from my apartment to your computer.

We’ll chat about stuff. Sing about it.

Make sure you spread the word. For the past 25 years we’ve shared that “It’s Just Us” feeling… we sing together, laugh together. It’s what we do. But it’s kinda cool now that we can get that same feeling all winter by hangin’ out online…. LIVE! Oh, why not try it. And if you plan on joining us, please email a friend or two in another city or another country and ask them to meet you in there.

YES! We are heading to the park again this summer. I always say… I have already paid the fees for the Special Events Permits and the Sound Device permits from the NYPD are $45. But it’s already taken care of. The overhead is about $100 a weekend to get out there. (No big deal, but if you feel like helping out, this is the place.)

Love, Truth, Reason, Laughter and Music are the answers to Trump-ism…

Yes, I know. I know. We are through the looking glass. But we have each other. We have Love, Truth, Reason, Laughter and… Music. And “Dreamers Like Me” keep trying to find our way. So this weekend (Sunday) a group of us are getting together again in the Concert Window.

Look, tell your friends everywhere, no matter where in the country they live to start checking in here. And ask them to join me on my Facebook Page. (https://www.facebook.com/david.thatguitarman )

I’ll be sharing the newest song… the one I just wrote… the one to rally all like-minded people of reason.

I know. I know. For reasonable, sane people this is a tough week. But we’re in it together and we have work to do. I’m gonna start off today with a feel good video from our “Year End Concert” at Merkin Concert Hall here in New York City a month ago. And then further down, I’ll share a few more examples of why I feel like the luckiest man alive.

Let’s go LIVE online tomorrow!!!

We’re getting close to another season in Central Park!!!

AND TOMORROW I’m showing up with other sane, reasonable people who want to demand the we can see the tax returns and finance history of the fraud in the Oval Office. Time for us to hit the streets in protest again. But I will make it back in time to do a SPECIAL EDITION of “The Weekly Show”.

Look, Sunday is a holiday for a lot of people. So let’s get together online tomorrow at a special time on a different day — 6:00 eastern. Right here on your computer.

Now… Saturday, May 6 is gonna be “OPENING DAY” for 2017 in Central Park! (Man! We might need to hang together and share music and laughs more this year than any other year. What d’you think?)

We’ll chat about all the shit that went down this week. Y’see… in the off-season, a bunch of us get together LIVE online every Sunday. But this week I’ll stream right from my apartment tomnorrow. We’ll do it again tomorrow at 6:00 eastern.
