Welcome to the website.

Today... February 4th is WORLD CANCER DAY.

I put together a little "short film" for today. It's further down the page. Please share it on Facebook, email it to your friends, pass it on.

.

.

But first I wanna say again... man! I love music. I love my work. I love this town. I love you guys and I miss hangin' with you once a week.

I really do feel like I'm about the luckiest man alive. (I actually hope we all get to feel that way most of the time.)

.

Thanks for showing up here every day. Won't be long before I get to put my guitar on my shoulder and hang with you again.... MARCH 3. (More about that a little further down the page.)

Hope you've been enjoying the updates for the past few days. I spent part of the day yesterday working on a new song I want to bring with me to The Turks & Caicos Islands next week. That gig is gonna be an amazing amount of fun, and it always rolls around at exactly the right time of year for me!

But today is WORLD CANCER DAY... when we take a moment to reflect on how that illness has touched all of our lives. And we might take a moment to think how we can comfort each other and care for each other in light of the fact that we all must live with it as part of our human existence for now. So, yesterday I also spent a good part of the day putting together a little "short film" (less than 3 minutes) about one of the most outrageous but illustrative political events I've seen in the midst of soooooo many outrageous and illustrative moments.

It's 2:57 long.

If the words and the priorities and the arrogant, unfeeling attitude of this man and people like him affect you like they did me.... please pass it on. Share it on your Facebook pages. Send the link to friends and family. Ask people to check out this website.

Here it is.

Okay, back to the smiles.

My pal, Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Dean Love is out in Ohio this week. But as soon as he gets back to town I'm gonna ask him if he's got more video edited down from the December concert. I wanna start sharing more of those moments with you guys... especially the people in different parts of the country and different parts of the world who couldn't be there or didn't watch it streamed LIVE that night because of the time differences.

But very soon, I'll let you guys know how you can be part of the studio audience for Dean's new musical web-series called... "THERE", which will be a kind of edgy, hip, variety show, talk show kinda thing.

.

In fact, maybe I'll do it this way.

Maybe I'll announce the process for obtaining studio audience tickets at the next "indoor" gig I'm doing at The Leonard Nimoy Thalia on March 3. If you wanna grab tickets for this concert, they are on sale already. If you call the box office or stop by The Thalia on Broadway @ 95th Street you can reserve seats this week. Or you can get them online. I wanted this gig to be a whole lot more intimate than the big YEAR END concert. There are only 150 seats in this theater, so if you're thinkin' about calling a few friends and makin' a fun night of it, you might wanna do that before the gig gets closer.

Gonna be cool. I'm gonna stop by the box office later this week to see how the tickets sales are going. So, I'll let you guys know.

Why such a small venue?

There's a good reason for that. This gig is gonna be a bit different than anything I've done in a in a long while. This is gonna be a completely solo, acoustic night of songs and stories. I'm gonna hang with you guys for an intimate theater and we'll just see where it goes. I think I'll play a whole bunch of songs I haven't played in a long time, and a few brand new songs nobody's ever heard before.

There are always a handful of newcomers checking in for various reasons here in NYC or from across the country and different parts of the world... whether it's because of YouTube, or Facebook, or one of the projects we're workin' on... or because they've spent an afternoon with us out in Central Park when the weather is warm.

For newcomers, here's a little Photo Gallery from this past Summer. Very cool. Maybe you're in there!

Here are a few we've already completed.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
