No update yesterday. I'm trying to spend a little more time "creating" new stuff than telling you guys about stuff that already exists! But I figure I can throw something up here every day and still keep things in balance. And there are always a handful of newcomers checking in fro various reasons here in NYC or from across the country and different parts of the world... whether it's because of YouTube, or Facebook, or one of the projects we're workin' on... or because they've spent an afternoon with us out in Central Park when the weather is warm.
For newcomers, here's a little Photo Gallery from this past Summer. Very cool. Maybe you're in there!

Well gotta start off by saying... have a great MLK Day! Here's a FREE song to download for the occasion.
Hey, man! We have a lot of fun around here. And, we've got a lot of ideas to have more and more laughs in the coming weeks. But, I wanted to start off the week by sharing just a few words and a thought on this national holiday.
My personal favorite quote by Dr. King is this:
"Let us realize the arc of the moral universe is long but it bends toward justice."
Today, I just wanna start of by congratulating the New York Giants and a pretty tough, hard-fought game yesterday in Green Bay.
.
I've been saying it all year... this Giants team plays up AND down to their competition week to week. Now, that's not good news about the character of a team during the regular season. But in the post season, that's a pretty sweet quality since every team they face is great. They really got after golden boy, Aaron Rogers, and Manning outplayed him in every way. But the Giants offensive line was outstanding all day.
I'm gonna stop by the box office later this week to see how the tickets sales are going. So, I'll let you guys know. I know we're still about 8 weeks out from the concert, but as opposed to the December concert which was in a 500-seat venue, this next gig is gonna be at The Leonard Nimoy Thalia on Broadway here in New York, which only seats about 150.
Why such a small venue?
There's a good reason for that. This gig is gonna be a bit different than anything I've done in a in a long while. This is gonna be a completely solo, acoustic night of songs and stories. I'm gonna hang with you guys for an intimate theater and we'll just see where it goes. I think I'll play a whole bunch of songs I haven't played in a long time, and a few brand new songs nobody's ever heard before.
I hung out a little bit with my buddy Dean last week and asked if he could get a few more moments from the December concert edited down to be ready for you guys to watch on Youtube and here at the site. As soon as he gets some of those clips to me, I can work on the audio tracks and we'll have 'em here at the site. Some really fun shit. So keep checking back.
Besides the gig in the first week of March, we've got sooooo many really cool ideas and plans for 2012. Like this one possibility as explained by Broadway legend Tony Walton and his wife.

And then there's the new webseries being produced by my pal, Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Dean Love.
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
