Welcome to the website!

Havin' a little cold snap!

.

But Today is the day we make the announcement for the first "indoor" concert of 2012!

Were you at "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert"?

Did you have a blast?

Is this little cold blast in New York City makin' you feel like it's way too long until Spring gets here and we get to hang in Central Park again?

Maybe you're one of those people who really dig the smaller, more intimate nights of music, and storytelling and laughs. So many people have emailed me and asked for a solo, acoustic night so I can play a bunch of the old songs and mix in some brand new songs that nobody's ever heard before. So that's what we're gonna do on March 3rd. I'm gonna head to a venue where we've all had such a great time in the past. It's the place where "Facebook is a Stupid Idiot" was unleashed on the world. It's the place where I've spent so many wonderful nights singin' songs and telling stories with you guys.

The Leonard Nimoy Thalia

Broadway @ 95th Street

.

SATURDAY NIGHT, MARCH 3
7:30

.

TICKETS GO ON SALE TODAY!!!!

I'm calling this gig "Paying Attention"... because it's what I try to do every day of my life, and hopefully that effort shows up in the songs. We're probably gonna laugh as much as we sing at this one again. But listen... its a lot smaller than Merkin Concert Hall. I mean, Merkin Hall is a comfortable 500-seat house. The Thalia only seats 150. That's why it's such a perfect little venue for this kinda night. But that also means it's probably best if you call a few friends and grab tickets sooner than later.

This concert is general admission. So just go ahead and grab tickets now, then get to the theater early that night for the very best seats. (You know how that works!)

I think today is kind of an appropriate day for the tickets to go on sale for a solo acoustic night of music and storytelling. I often hope my songs tell a little story... and of you string enough of them together, they actually have a through-line on a larger context. Well, today marks a day in my life when so much changed in my life 21 years ago. So, let's let loose and fill a concert hall on March 3... sing some songs and tell some stories and have some laughs.... in a smaller theater.

Rock on!

Republican Caucus News

BTW -- Mitt Romney was the winner of the Iowa Caucus last night by... get this... 8 votes!!!

Ha! Can you even imagine taking anything seriously that's considered a "state-wide-anything" and then it's decided by less people than could field a baseball team?

Ha! That bombastic twinkie named Rick Santorum actually came in second by 8 votes. (I know, I know, who cares?)

But I just had to ask 2 things today... doesn't "caucus" sound like some kind of unpleasant bodily fluid!?

I'm just sayin'.

And the other question... where the hell did I leave my sweater vest!?

.

Oh yeah -- Now I remember. I think I left it in 1977.

Hey! I hope you're enjoying the music videos I've been posting from last year's concert at The Kaufman Center. I had a blast that night and every time I edit one of these videos it brings back what a great time it is every single time I'm hangin' with all of you with guitar on my shoulder. I've got a couple of things I can tell you about today to start the year.

YES! I already submitted all the paperwork and fees to The Parks Department for the special Events Permits we'll need for the summer. It always feels good to know that's all taken care of.

Besides the gig in the first week of March, we've got sooooo many really cool ideas and plans for 2012. Like this one possibility as explained by Broadway legend Tony Walton and his wife.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
