Hey!

Welcome to the website.

Whatcha doin today around 2:00 (est) in the afternoon? If you live in South Jersey or Philadelphia, or if you're gonna be near a computer anywhere in the world you might wanna listen in. I have absolutely no idea what the host wants to talk about. But he was at "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" this past December. So he must've had a good time. I know I did that night... and I had the feeling that everybody in that room did.

Again!

So, I'm already lookin' forward to putting my guitar on my shoulder for the next concert on March 3. A very different kind of gig, but always a sweet time. (More about that a little further down the page.)

Gettin' ahead of myself.

Okay here -- you can listen to the radio thing LIVE if you want. The show is from 2:00 to 4:00 this afternoon. (I think he said the show before it is in Spanish. So if you tune in early... you're on the right website or station!)

Click on the logo to listen LIVE.

.

NOW!!!

If it's later in the day and you're here at the page because you heard the radio show, especially if you're a first-timer... keep reading. And further down the page you'll find a bunch of music videos that might give you a little bit of an idea about what I was talkin' about!

BTW -- Yes, I put in all the paperwork and sent all the fees in to the Parks Department for this coming Spring and Summer. So we'll just keep on keepin' on in Central Park, living one day at a time and sharing music with the people from all across the country and all around the world who hang with us here in New York every year. Last year was another typically amazing season.

For newcomers, here's a little Photo Gallery from this past Summer. Very cool. Maybe you're in there!

Maybe you're one of those people who really dig the smaller, more intimate nights of music, and storytelling and laughs. So many people have emailed me and asked for a solo, acoustic night so I can play a bunch of the old songs and mix in some brand new songs that nobody's ever heard before. So that's what we're gonna do on March 3rd. I'm gonna head to a venue where we've all had such a great time in the past. It's the place where "Facebook is a Stupid Idiot" was unleashed on the world. It's the place where I've spent so many wonderful nights singin' songs and telling stories with you guys.

The Leonard Nimoy Thalia

Broadway @ 95th Street

SATURDAY NIGHT, MARCH 3
7:30

.

TICKETS ARE ALREADY ON SALE!!!

I'm calling this gig "Paying Attention"... because it's what I try to do every day of my life, and hopefully that effort shows up in the songs. We're probably gonna laugh as much as we sing at this one again. But listen... its a lot smaller than Merkin Concert Hall. I mean, Merkin Hall is a comfortable 500-seat house. The Thalia only seats 150. That's why it's such a perfect little venue for this kinda night. But that also means it's probably best if you call a few friends and grab tickets sooner than later.

This concert is general admission. So just go ahead and grab tickets now, then get to the theater early that night for the very best seats. (You know how that works!)

I think today is kind of an appropriate day for the tickets to go on sale for a solo acoustic night of music and storytelling. I often hope my songs tell a little story... and of you string enough of them together, they actually have a through-line on a larger context. Well, today marks a day in my life when so much changed in my life 21 years ago. So, let's let loose and fill a concert hall on March 3... sing some songs and tell some stories and have some laughs.... in a smaller theater.

Rock on!

I hung out a little bit with my buddy Dean this week and asked if he could get a few more moments from the December concert edited down to be ready for you guys to watch on Youtube and here at the site. As soon as he gets some of those clips to me, I can work on the audio tracks and we'll have 'em here at the site. Some really fun shit. So keep checking back.

Here are a few we've already completed.

Besides the gig in the first week of March, we've got sooooo many really cool ideas and plans for 2012. Like this one possibility as explained by Broadway legend Tony Walton and his wife.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
