I wanna say "Hi" to all of you checking from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. Here in NYC, I'm personally still waiting for our first really good snowfall of the winter. (Yeah, we had some before Thanksgiving, but that doesn't count.)
Okay, it's the kid in me. But as a full-grown man, I feel that New York City, specifically Central Park in the snow, is the most romantic place on the face of the earth. Besides, I've got a music video I'm itchin' to shoot... and I need a little snow!
.
Hey, in yesterday's update I posted a wonderful photo sent to me all the way from Brazil. (But I always say... "If there's one thing this world does NOT need, it's one more photo of me playing the guitar!!!")
Still, it made me think about this photo from last Summer.
This might be my favorite photo which, for me, captures a beautiful moment as well as the pride I feel sharing a microphone and a song with Teresa Reynolds and the other wonderful artists I get to work with all year 'round.
.
Right?
Y'get it?
Moving on...
I'm gonna be back tomorrow to tell you guys a little bit about a conversation I had the other night. It turned into a very powerful moment for me personally, and the person with whom I was speaking had absolutely NO idea that his negative words gave me an amazing and positive gift.
But for today, I'm trying to spend a little more time "creating" new stuff than telling you guys about stuff that already exists! But I figure I can throw something up here every day and still keep things in balance. And there are always a handful of newcomers checking in for various reasons here in NYC or from across the country and different parts of the world... whether it's because of YouTube, or Facebook, or one of the projects we're workin' on... or because they've spent an afternoon with us out in Central Park when the weather is warm.
For newcomers, here's a little Photo Gallery from this past Summer. Very cool. Maybe you're in there!

OUR NEXT NIGHT TOGETHER!
.
I'm gonna stop by the box office later this week to see how the tickets sales are going. So, I'll let you guys know. I know we're still about 6 weeks out from the concert, but as opposed to the December concert which was in a 500-seat venue, this next gig is gonna be at The Leonard Nimoy Thalia on Broadway here in New York, which only seats about 150.
Why such a small venue?
There's a good reason for that. This gig is gonna be a bit different than anything I've done in a in a long while. This is gonna be a completely solo, acoustic night of songs and stories. I'm gonna hang with you guys for an intimate theater and we'll just see where it goes. I think I'll play a whole bunch of songs I haven't played in a long time, and a few brand new songs nobody's ever heard before.
I hung out a little bit with my buddy Dean last week and asked if he could get a few more moments from the December concert edited down to be ready for you guys to watch on Youtube and here at the site. As soon as he gets some of those clips to me, I can work on the audio tracks and we'll have 'em here at the site. Some really fun shit. So keep checking back.
Besides the gig in the first week of March, we've got sooooo many really cool ideas and plans for 2012. Like this one possibility as explained by Broadway legend Tony Walton and his wife.

And then there's the new webseries being produced by my pal, Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Dean Love.
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
