Welcome to the website.

Well, we had another typically amazing "outdoor" season in Central Park. For newcomers, here's a little Photo Gallery from this past Summer. Very cool. Maybe you're in there! (It's still growing!)

.

.

And we closed out the year like we always do at Merkin Concert Hall this past Saturday night.

IF YOU MISSED THE SHOW AND YOU WANT TO SEE A RE-BROADCAST OF THE LIVE STREAM WE DID THAT NIGHT... it's just a little further down the page.

.

Man!

Gotta tell you... this has been a wild 48 hours for me.

Feeling so good about the gig on Saturday night. Feeling so amazed about the good people in my life... James Marino came all the way into town to manage the LIVE stream of the video even though he was sick as a dog. Dean Love shot the entire concert with a 4 camera set up and "The Allie Corps" handled the CDs and DVDs in the lobby all out of the love and enthusiasm in their hearts.

And... you guys.

Every single one of you in the audience helped the "spirit" carry me through a night of music and stories when the "body" wasn't gonna be able to do it. Seriously... I pushed through the laryngitis on Saturday night, and then... HA! I wasn't able to utter a sound for the next 36 hours. (It's comin' back slowly, now.) I mean, I ain't the best singer in the world... but it's better than what we got on Saturday!!!

Seriously -- just one more experience I will keep in my heart for always. Ha! I mean... wow!

And the first photos are coming in to the website. Here's a batch from Stephen Sorokoff ~

And here's a batch from the balcony... shot many Elodie Pauwels ~

THE CONCERT

Okay, we broadcast the concert LIVE on Saturday night and people watched it along with us all across the country and as far away as France, The UK, Spain, Brazil... even Iran.

You can plug in some headphones and sit back for a few hours and watch nearly the entire night.

Then we had a tech mishap!

Then James got the stream up and running again!!!

And y'know? I always say that I am a "fiercely independent" artist. By that I mean, I truly listen to my own inspirations, I follow my own intuitions, speak my own Truth and "Trust the Force" as much as Obi-Wan Kenobi.

But I don't do what I do alone. I depend on the good, good people in my artists' circle and my circle of friends and family in so many ways. That dependency also keeps me in a place of nearly constant gratitude and wonder.

So, thanks guys!

.

And now, it just about time to flip the sign. Maybe tomorrow. (If you've been coming around here for a year or more you know what I mean by that.)

But keep checking back between now and the end of the year. Because there are a few traditions I'd like to keep alive here at the site.

Cool?

See you back here tomorrow to flip the sign.

Before we do that... here's a song that I did for the very first time with the band at the gig on Saturday. And once again, I wanna ask you guys to keep this video moving around the planet. (It is intended to help counter the distorted and often purposely skewed image of the "Occupy Wall Street" movement by much of the "news" media. You can help by turning all your friends onto this video.)

THE NEWEST SONG AND VIDEO!

.

Send this video to everyone you know. Send it to people you don't know! Post it to your Facebook pages. Email it to Congress. Send it everywhere!

WE HAVE LOTS OF WORK TO DO IN 2012!

.

HOPEFULLY I'LL BE BACK WITH NEW VIDEO FROM THE CONCERT BEFORE THE END OF THE YEAR!

Y'know? This was year #20 that I've been known as "That Guitar Man from Central Park". As the result of sharing all those typically amazing afternoons of music an laughs in the middle of the greatest city in the world, I've become aware that there are always a lot of you checking in from different parts of the country and different parts of the world.

Here are a couple of different fun galleries to check out.

.

.

HAVE FUN TODAY!!!!!! (And be cool to each other, okay?)

.

Thanks for everything.

.

Peace ☮

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
