GOT A BRAND NEW VIDEO FOR YOU TODAY TO CLOSE OUT THE YEAR!
.
Wrapping the lap around the Sun we're globally calling 2011.

So...
Happy New Year!
.
Hmmmmm. What are my wishes for the new year? I'm not one of those guys who makes "resolutions". I tend to live in the moment and begin every day like it's a day that is unparallelled in my lifetime. But like everybody else, around this time I do look ahead to the calendar year with hope and dreams. For all of us... I put my sincere hope in a song I wrote a few years back:
And now a simple man can share a simply wish with you
That's nothing too profound
I just hope we do a little bit better
And maybe get it right next time around.
.
.
Personally? I'm hoping I can enjoy more Creative success and fulfillment. I'm hoping I can be a little kinder and a little more compassionate. I would really love it if my music and the things I want to say to the world reach a few more people... like maybe a few million more. I hope to stay on this up and down and winding path upward toward the light and understanding. It really is a fascinating journey. I would also kinda love it if "she" walked right into my Life this year. (But that's in the hands of the "Romance Gods"!!!) And if not, I hope I can keep touching other hearts to let them know that even when they are lonely they are never really alone.
And on a completely different level... I hope that the Creative projects, dreams and possibilities I'm working on, and that friends and colleagues are planning, find their way into the world in whatever way they're meant to manifest.
Gotta say to all of you reading this...
THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER WONDERFUL YEAR!

THE NEWS and some POSSIBILITIES
Now, I've got some good news for you guys today.
I went ahead and signed the contract for the next gig. l know it seems like a long way off, but mark Saturday night, March 3rd on your brand new 2012 calendars! If you were at the gig a week ago, you got to hear a whole bunch of new songs with the entire band. But y'know? Even in a 2 1/2 hour concert I never get to all the songs I know you guys wanna hear. A lot of the songs from a few years back... a lot of songs from back when I first started being "That Guitar Man from Central Park". And I'm still writing. I have another handful of brand new songs that you've never heard before. So, I'm gonna do a more intimate night of music and storytelling in a smaller theater, so I can share a whole bunch of that stuff with you. It'll basically just be me, probably sitting on a milk crate, with a guitar. And of course... you.
I'm already looking forward to it.

We've got sooooo many really cool ideas and plans for 2012. Like this possibility as explained by Broadway legend Tony Walton and his wife.

And then there's the new webseries being produced by my pal, Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Dean Love.
Seriously -- 2011 was something! Had an amazing "outdoor" season of music and laughs in Central Park. Got fired from the "Sunset Concert Series". Wrapped the year with one of the most incredible nights I've ever experienced on a stage at Merkin Concert Hall.

And y'know? I always say that I am a "fiercely independent" artist. By that I mean, I truly listen to my own inspirations, I follow my own intuitions, speak my own Truth and "Trust the Force" as much as Obi-Wan Kenobi.
But I don't do what I do alone. I depend on the good, good people in my artists' circle and my circle of friends and family in so many ways. That dependency also keeps me in a place of nearly constant gratitude and wonder.
Here's a song that I did for the very first time with the band at the gig on Saturday. And once again, I wanna ask you guys to keep this video moving around the planet. (It is intended to help counter the distorted and often purposely skewed image of the "Occupy Wall Street" movement by much of the "news" media. You can help by turning all your friends onto this video.)
THE NEWEST SONG AND VIDEO!

Send this video to everyone you know. Send it to people you don't know! Post it to your Facebook pages. Email it to Congress. Send it everywhere!
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
