Really quickly... gotta tell you guys, I was in the studio yesterday with George, Ryan, Nelson, Teresa and Chris taking a run at a few songs we know we're gonna be doing on Saturday night. We ran a bunch of the old songs we know you guys wanna hear, and we kicked around a bunch of brand new songs you've never heard before. And I think you're gonna love it all!
I really do.
Now, today I'm heading to Merkin Concert Hall's box office to arrange a couple of things, and so a little later today I can give you a "ticket update".
When I last checked with the box office there were still a handful of really good seats in the orchestra. But some of the very best seats in the balcony are still available. (And it's always a fun, fun crowd in the balcony every year.) The way it looks right now, you might even be able to walk up the night of the gig and get tickets right there. But if it doesn't sell out before Saturday night, it's gonna be pretty damned close. So if you have friends who are thinkin' about coming, you might wanna tell them to call the box office this week.

The Kaufman Center is on West 67th Street, between Broadway and Amsterdam Ave.
Remember the old Marquis you could see from Broadway? .
.
Well, that venue underwent a complete renovation a few years back, and now it's one of the best sounding and most intimate feeling 500-seat music halls in town. I mean it. It's designed for orchestral music, so the stage is wide and the seats are all GREAT seats.

.
So what we're gonna do is this!
We're gonna take that feeling we get all Summer in Central Park, and move it indoors one more time to kick the year in the ass as it heads out the door.

It's something that has become kind of a tradition for the past... um... okay... nobody actually remembers how many years. That's how this gig got it's name! But the feeling in that hall every year is something special. Sure it because of the wonderful people who share the stage with me and all the music and laughs. But there's something more. there is always a feeling in Merkin Hall that comes from you guys. I mean it. It's palpable. If you've ever been to one fo these things, you know what I'm talking about. A warmth... a feeling that the theater has suddenly become a big-ass living room and I happen to be the guy with the guitar.
Hope you can make it!
If you haven't gotten tickets yet, you can call the box office right now:
NOW -- here's a song I'm gonna debut with the bad at the gig on December 10th. And once again, I wanna ask you guys to keep this video moving around the planet. (It is intended to help counter the distorted and often purposely skewed image of the "Occupy Wall Street" movement by much of the "news" media. You can help by turning all your friends onto this video.)
THE NEWEST SONG AND VIDEO!

Y'know? This was year #20 that I've been known as "That Guitar Man from Central Park". As the result of sharing all those typically amazing afternoons of music an laughs in the middle of the greatest city in the world, I've become aware that there are always a lot of you checking in from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. For newcomers, here's a little Photo Gallery from this past Summer. Very cool. Maybe you're in there! (It's still growing!)
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
