Christmas Eve...

Got a story for you today and a little thought for the day wwaaayyy at the bottom of this page.

But today... it's Christmas Eve. So today, I'll be giving you guys 2... maybe 3 brand new concert videos!!!!

HERE'S THE NEWEST VIDEO!!! Every year, we do one BIG cover song at the gig. This was the song this year that rocked the house. I had the worst laryngitis and my throat was on fire that night, but the wonderful people in that room carried me all night! On this song, I got a little help from some fellow singer/songwriters -- Lili Roquelin, Athena Reich, Kylie Edmond and Cassandra Kubinski.

Okay... let that sink in and then we'll jump to the next video. FIRST, I offer a letter to Santa Claus. It's just one way for Santa to make another dream come true.

.

OKAY, next up! This is a song that really has nothing to do with this particular holiday... but is something I feel all 365 days of the year. Feel free to pass it on.

I LOVE HEARING FROM YOU. SHOOT ME AN EMAIL HERE!

.

What a year this has been!!!!

And I'm telling you, there is a feeling in the air around me that 2012 is gonna be by far the most fantastically exciting and wonderful ride yet... no matter what it brings. Seems to me, every time I find myself asking, "Man! Can it get any better than this?"

.

.

It does.

.

.

Seriously -- 2011 was something! Had an amazing "outdoor" season of music and laughs in Central Park. Got fired from the "Sunset Concert Series". Wrapped the year with one of the most incredible nights I've ever experienced on a stage at Merkin Concert Hall.

You can watch the LIVE stream of entire concert here today if you want. I'll have quality video from the gig here at the website very soon.

For you guys again today... "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" is here for you to watch. Go make a pot of coffee. Pour yourself some tea or a nice glass of wine and sit back and watch this thing. Plug in some headphones or some earbuds if you feel like it. You can actually jump around and watch different parts o the show.

We had such a great time again this year in that theater! We broadcast the concert LIVE on Saturday night and people watched it along with us all across the country and as far away as France, The UK, Spain, Brazil... even Iran.

You can plug in some headphones and sit back for a few hours and watch nearly the entire night.

Then we had a tech mishap!

Then James got the stream up and running again!!!

Crazy wonderful time of year. But it's filled with emotion and feeling -- most happy, some melancholy. Some longing, some hopeful... some sad. But there's always a lot of feeling and emotion in the air. A couple of days ago I offered you guys a little story for the holiday.

If you missed it... here's "The Story" again.

Hey, here's a thought.

Tomorrow is December 25th. It's the day we call Christmas. It might have special meaning for you. It might not. It does for me, but not for the same reasons that many other people love the day.

I just love the day because I always get to be with people I love.

Some people go sleepily through a day of repetitive tradition and parties... some just go for Chinese food and a movie every year. But for me, it's always about letting go of everything else and getting down to the most genuine kind of Love there is. Just being around people I care about. Or at times in my life, even just one special person...

I really enjoy December 25th because it's always been that way in my Life -- all about being surrounded by Love -- or making sure others felt that they were surrounded by Love. Or it's about wanting to be surrounded by Love, or trying to be surrounded by Love, or longing to be surrounded by Love. But no matter how I look at it... it was always about Love.

From the time I was a little kid and I first believed in Santa Claus I still do.) ...and some of the other fantastical stories I once believed that surrounded the day, the day that we mark every on the calendar meant something special. Yeah, it's been filled with tradition. It's been filled with the Spirit of giving. It's been filled with the excitement of receiving something new and fun. It's been filled with incredibly beautiful music. It's been filled with laughter, and wonder, and parties, and friends.

Y'know? I get a chance, manufactured or not, based in fantasy or not, to be forgiving on this day. I get a chance to remember what's really important in my Life. And as The Beatles once said in a song... "All you need is Love". Hopefully I can hold onto that for the entire day on December 26th as well. And then a little bit more for another day. If I keep that up for another 363 days... what a year I'm bound to have!!!

If you're reading this I wish the same for you. If you're not in place to feel that this year, I guess it's kinda like I wrote in my song...

"I hope we get it right... next time around".

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
