Once again, I'm standing with my brothers and sisters downtown today. If you see me down there... smile, okay? (I'll get to all to that in a minute.)
"The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" in Merkin Concert Hall is only 5 weeks away. (And I'll get to all of that even further down the page.)
FIRST!
Thank you to every single one of you who ever shared even on afternoon of music and laughs with me in Central Park.

Y'know? This was year #20 that I've been known as "That Guitar Man from Central Park". As the result of sharing all those typically amazing afternoons of music an laughs in the middle of the greatest city in the world, I've become aware that there are always a lot of you checking in from different parts of the country and different parts of the world.
For newcomers, here's a little Photo Gallery from this past Summer. Very cool. Maybe you're in there! (It's still growing!)
If you know my music at all, or if you know anything about me, you know that I feel it's incredibly important for me as an artist and as a human being to "pay attention". Because of that, I most often to get to write the next song I want to write... but rather the next song that wants to be written. Because of that, and for many reason which I will explain further down the page, the next song that wanted desperately to be written was...
"The OCCUPY WALL STREET Rag"
Now, in the video itself you will not see my name appear. You will not see the url for this website. You will not see a logo for Dean Love films. That is intentional. If you watch this video on YouTube, there are no credits in the description, and if you post it on your Facebook page, Dean and I are asking that you omit our names or links to our websites. It's not that big a deal, but we both feel it's kind of important in the Spirit of a "People's" movement that we avoid any appearance of self-promotion.
Self-promotion is NOT what this is about.
But music and video are simply the 2 things of most value that Dean and I can bring to any worthwhile effort in this world. That's just a fact. It's the commodity we deal with that has the most value and wields the most power. (In fact, this little sucker cost us a bunch to make and get out there! But it's what we do!)
Okay... Ha! Still, this video turned into a bear!
It really became a monster to get right. But I think we finally did.
After weeks of watching the inaccurate, shallow and often intentionally distorted TV "news" coverage of the "Occupy Wall Street" movement downtown my friend and colleague, Emmy Award-wining filmmaker Dean Love, decided to make an effort to counter that. We were lucky that a ridiculous amount of good-hearted people jumped in to be a part of this thing... including the wonderful and talented Teresa Reynolds.
But a few days after the first DVDs were burned and the video was first uploaded to YouTube, we discovered that e had dropped the wrong audio track under the music video. The track with Teresa singing was somehow missing. Correcting that turned into a technical nightmare for various reasons, but it was important to both Dean and I that we make it right.
SO HERE IT IS!!!!
The latest, and final version of...

And now... THIS is the link to copy and paste EVERYWHERE!!!
Please do. Spend a little time and post it everywhere. Post it on your Facebook page. email it to your friends. Email to people you don't know. Email it to people you don't like! Email it to FOX NEWS!!!!
Trust me when I say, you are NOT gonna wanna miss this one. If you've ever been to one of these gigs you know how much fun we have and how we laugh nearly as much as we sing at these things. If you've never been to one... I can tell you that I already have a really good feeling that this one is gonna be a special night.
THE TICKETS ARE ALREADY ON SALE FOR THE CONCERT ON DECEMBER 10 !!!
.
And the box office is open today! You can call them today...
212-501-3330
...to make sure you get the very best seats.
I mean, there isn't a bad seat in Merkin Concert Hall in The Kaufman Center. there really isn't. If you've ever been there you know... it's a beautiful 500-seat venue which is designed for orchestral concerts. So, it's a wide stage with a very intimate feel.
Every year I get to share a stage with some of the most amazing, funniest, most generous, good-hearted, fun artists anywhere... and that's at Merkin Concert Hall in The Kaufman Center in New York City. This year it's lookin' like the usual suspects... George Wurzbach, Teresa Reynolds, Nelson Montana, Ryan Cavan, David Marcus and Chris Tedesco.
Yeah, I know right now December 10th might feel like a long way off. But it's really about 6 weeks away. And you know how it goes once we get into November, tickets start flying.
So, it might be a good idea to kinda plan your night around Saturday night, December 10th soon. Y'know? Call a few friends. See who's gonna be in town. See who feels like grabbing dinner in Manhattan that weekend and catching the show.
.
If you already know that you wanna be at this show and you wanna grab the very best seats, you can get them today!!!!
Y'know? Music is most often a "mirror" to help reflect the world around us. But sometimes it's also a "hammer" to help shape the world around us. Both ways... it usually feels great if you're doin' it right!
We're still looking of the right person to direct the piece and we could still use some help financially. If you're inclined to help (Or you're one of those people who just has too damned much money and wants to put it to good use!) ... this is what we're trying to do. Maybe it's time to reach a larger audience!!!! Maybe on Broadway!
In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it. I'll be inviting all of you to another one of those small, unplugged work sessions very soon, so keep checking back. The last 2 filled up in a matter of hours.
Here's a little 10-minute video from Tony and his wife... explaining the project.
.
Welcome to all you newcomers! WELCOME to you if this is your first time here at the website! I hope you bookmark it and check back every day. It's become a very fun, very under-the-radar little New York Secret. You can always keep up with the cool stuff that's goin' on around me and my music and all the amazing people in this circle of friends and fellow-artists.
You can always go back and browse through THE ARCHIVE as far back as you wanna go. I mean... thanks to my friend, my webmaster, and resident evil genius James Marino, you can historically go back through this website all the way back through the Bush years right up until the present. It's really kinda freaky how much content is here on this site.... cartoons, free songs, Photoshop images. Very cool.

Very cool. Here's a Photo Gallery from this season. Maybe you're in there! (It's still growing!)

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
