NOW! I'm gonna kinda take a break today... but I have a special something for you guys here today. I try to roll this out every year at this time.(A little further down the page.)
.
But before we get to today's special update, I wanna remind you one more time that...
"The Something'th Annual Year-End Concert"
...is just 2 weeks from this coming Saturday night!
.
So if you haven't done it yet, call a few friends and reserve your seats in that beautiful music venue... Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Center.
The box office is closed today. (Thursday) They will be open again tomorrow afternoon. BUT! You can still order tickets online right now to make sure you get the best seats. So if you don't grab tickets online today, maybe you can make today a day to call a few friends, round them up, make plans to make a night of it. When you order tickets, if you'd rather speak with... y'know... a human being... there are really nice ones in the box office... which will also open again on Sunday at noon.

THANKSGIVING UPDATE
Now before we take a look at a few moments from last year's concert. I wanna give you a special treat today.
I wanna share a classic song with you guys. For many it will bring back memories. For many of you youngbloods, you might not have ever heard it. It was back from the Viet Nam era... when this country was fighting on the other side of the world, much like today -- sending young men and women to fight and die for reasons very few reasonable people accepted... much like today.
This song was written by a talented, insightful and funny young man who visited this young woman years ago.
. Alice then and Alice now... click on photos to visit her site.
.
.
.
.
Then...
Go make a cup of coffee, or pour a glass of wine and sit back with this special, timeless Thanksgiving Day musical treasure. Seriously... put your earbuds in, put your headphones on and relax for a while.
FOR THANKSGIVING 2011
(A Blast from the Past)
.
It's just a little gift for you today. (Okay, okay... I guess it's not really mine to give away or share. But I have a feeling that Arlo wouldn't mind at all.)
Arlo Guthrie is just one of those artists by which I measure and define my own job description as an American singer/songwriter. A generation ago, he wrote one of the definitive songs of the anti-war movement. Here he is... performing it live.
.
Click on the image and sit back... for about 18 minutes!
.
.
(Simply a classic.)

NOW -- here's a song I'm gonna debut with the bad at the gig on December 10th. And once again, I wanna ask you guys to keep this video moving around the planet. (It is intended to help counter the distorted and often purposely skewed image of the "Occupy Wall Street" movement by much of the "news" media. You can help by turning all your friends onto this video.)
THE NEWEST SONG AND VIDEO!
.
Send this video to everyone you know. Send it to people you don't know! Post it to your Facebook pages. Email it to Congress. Send it everywhere!
Y'know? This was year #20 that I've been known as "That Guitar Man from Central Park". As the result of sharing all those typically amazing afternoons of music an laughs in the middle of the greatest city in the world, I've become aware that there are always a lot of you checking in from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. Thanks again to all of you who hung with me this year during our "outdoor" season.
For newcomers, here's a little Photo Gallery from this past Summer. Very cool. Maybe you're in there! (It's still growing!)
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
