There's going to be a new version of "The Occupy Wall Street Rag" here today or tomorrow. There's a reason for that! And I really need every single one of you reading this to help get this new version out to the world. The message is clear. The vision is clear. I just dropped the ball about one thing... and it's kind of important to me.(Just a little further down the page.)
Gotta tell you, we had another wonderful and indescribable season of music and laughs this year in Central Park Thanks to every single one of you who showed up for even one afternoon. I always feel like the luckiest man alive for being able to do what I do with my music and my Life.
But yeah man... it feels like "Opening Day" was like only a month ago. And now here we are ramping up for "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" on December 10. Trust me when I say... you are NOT gonna wanna get sold outta this gig this year. It's gonna be a fun and very special night for a lot of reasons. (More about that in a minute!)
Here's a Photo Gallery from this season. Maybe you're in there! (It's still growing!)
We launched the new music video in support of the "Occupy Wall Street" movement last week. I teamed up with Dean Love and we got this thing up and out in record time. BUT... there was something missing -- the amazing Teresa Reynolds who you've heard singing with me all Summer in Central Park.

Yep. She's one of the good ones fo' sho.
.
So after the initial audio track was laid down, I asked Teresa to come over and sing harmony on the song. HERE'S the first version of...

Then what happened was... well.. I actually don't know what happened. (But "audio" and music are in my bag... I'm the professional in that department, so this mix up is completely on me... my responsibility.) Somehow the track with Teresa singing didn't get under the video file. If it was about anyone else, or if it was somehow about me, I'd let it go. But Teresa is a wonderful artist with a beautiful soul and we had to make it right. Dean and I have been trying to fix it for 2 days and have been running into all kinds of technical snags. So will you guys do me a tremendous favor.
When the new video is up on this site a little later, send the NEW link to EVERYONE you know!!!!
Post in on your Facebook Page. Email it all across the country and around the world.
.
Seriously.... even if you sent people the original video, would you do me a tremendous favor, make my heart a little bit lighter and double your effort to get the new version out to the entire world. Tell them it was bone-headed on my part to leave Teresa out of the original mix! She brings so much to the spirit of the song.
The only really important thing is that the message of the song and the images get out there. I'm sure we will lose the number of "views" by reloading this song to YouTube. But it's worth it to do the right thing.
We are now just a little more than 5 weeks away from...
"THE SOMETHING'TH ANNUAL YEAR END CONCERT"
.
Trust me when I say, you are NOT gonna wanna miss this one. If you've ever been to one of these gigs you know how much fun we have and how we laugh nearly as much as we sing at these things. If you've never been to one... I can tell you that I already have a really good feeling that this one is gonna be a special night.
THE TICKETS ARE ALREADY ON SALE FOR THE CONCERT ON DECEMBER 10 !!!
.
And the box office is open today! You can call them today...

...to make sure you get the very best seats.
I mean, there isn't a bad seat in Merkin Concert Hall in The Kaufman Center. there really isn't. If you've ever been there you know... it's a beautiful 500-seat venue which is designed for orchestral concerts. So, it's a wide stage with a very intimate feel.
Every year I get to share a stage with some of the most amazing, funniest, most generous, good-hearted, fun artists anywhere... and that's at Merkin Concert Hall in The Kaufman Center in New York City. This year it's lookin' like the usual suspects... George Wurzbach, Teresa Reynolds, Nelson Montana, Ryan Cavan, David Marcus and Chris Tedesco.
Yeah, I know right now December 10th might feel like a long way off. But it's really about 6 weeks away. And you know how it goes once we get into November, tickets start flying.
So, it might be a good idea to kinda plan your night around Saturday night, December 10th soon. Y'know? Call a few friends. See who's gonna be in town. See who feels like grabbing dinner in Manhattan that weekend and catching the show.
.
If you already know that you wanna be at this show and you wanna grab the very best seats, you can get them today!!!!
Y'know? Music is most often a "mirror" to help reflect the world around us. But sometimes it's also a "hammer" to help shape the world around us. Both ways... it usually feels great if you're doin' it right!
We're still looking of the right person to direct the piece and we could still use some help financially. If you're inclined to help (Or you're one of those people who just has too damned much money and wants to put it to good use!) ... this is what we're trying to do. Maybe it's time to reach a larger audience!!!! Maybe on Broadway!
In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it. I'll be inviting all of you to another one of those small, unplugged work sessions very soon, so keep checking back. The last 2 filled up in a matter of hours.
Here's a little 10-minute video from Tony and his wife... explaining the project.

Welcome to all you newcomers! WELCOME to you if this is your first time here at the website! I hope you bookmark it and check back every day. It's become a very fun, very under-the-radar little New York Secret. You can always keep up with the cool stuff that's goin' on around me and my music and all the amazing people in this circle of friends and fellow-artists.
You can always go back and browse through THE ARCHIVE as far back as you wanna go. I mean... thanks to my friend, my webmaster, and resident evil genius James Marino, you can historically go back through this website all the way back through the Bush years right up until the present. It's really kinda freaky how much content is here on this site.... cartoons, free songs, Photoshop images. Very cool.

Very cool. Here's a Photo Gallery from this season. Maybe you're in there! (It's still growing!)

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
