THE CONCERT'S ONLY ABOUT 4 WEEKS AWAY! And I've had a couple of really great, really fun ideas recently. And I'd like to ask you guys to chime in with a suggestion or two about one of the songs.
First up... I'm thinkin' "Tom Cruise Scares Me" is gonna kind wind up being a re-cap of the passing year. Maybe it was designed to be that way. Because if you think that smarm-bucket Herman Cain isn't getting a verse, you're out of your mind! And we all know that Anthony Weiner deserves a good verse! It's gonna be fun. I'm sure Michele Bachmann gets her own verse.
. .
So here's the question...
Who else do you think made a complete verse of themselves in 2011?
Welcome to all of the newcomers here at the site. I know there are an awful lot of you checkin' in from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. but if you're gonna be anywhere near NYC on December 10, I hope I see your face at...
"THE SOMETHING'TH ANNUAL YEAR END CONCERT"
(More about that in a minute.)
.
FIRST -- I wanna say thank again to every single one of you who spent even one afternoon with me in Central Park this past year.... or ever! You make me feel like the luckiest man alive.

Y'know? This was year #20 that I've been known as "That Guitar Man from Central Park". As the result of sharing all those typically amazing afternoons of music an laughs in the middle of the greatest city in the world, I've become aware that there are always a lot of you checking in from different parts of the country and different parts of the world.
For newcomers, here's a little Photo Gallery from this past Summer. Very cool. Maybe you're in there! (It's still growing!)
SECONDLY -- and once again, I wanna ask you guys to keep this video moving around the planet. (It is intended to help counter the distorted and often purposely skewed image of the "Occupy Wall Street" movement by much of the "news" media. You can help by turning all your friends onto this video.)
THE NEWEST SONG AND VIDEO!
.
How does an idea or a feeling make it all the way around the planet in one week or one day?
YOU!
Dat's how!
Send this video to everyone you know. Send it to people you don't know! Post it to your Facebook pages. Email it to Congress. Send it everywhere!
Like I said, I have a couple of really fun ideas about this gig. One of them has to do with the BIG cover song we do every year. I think you guys are gonna love this. I think we're gonna create a good musical memory.
Right now, there are plenty of good seats left. There are 500 seats in Merkin Concert Hall and there isn't a bad seat in the house. If you've ever been there you know... even the balcony is right on top of the stage so it's a very intimate venue. It's still early, but as of today there are about 275 seats left.
So, call a few friends. Make a night of it. And then grab tickets sooner than later to get the best seats. It's a yearly tradition called...

...and talk to Biz or Shayla. They're great!!!
We laugh as much as we sing at these things! And we have a whole bunch of new songs and a few surprises this year. We'll also be singing a bunch of your favorites from Central Park. Every year I get to share a stage with some of the most amazing, funniest, most generous, good-hearted, fun artists anywhere. This year it's lookin' like the usual suspects... George Wurzbach, Teresa Reynolds, Nelson Montana, Ryan Cavan, David Marcus and Chris Tedesco.
It's only about 4 weeks away. And now that we're into November, tickets start flying.
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
