NOPE!

No crazy hype.

Just a very simple post today.

.

.

I spent part of the day yesterday with my good friend Sid who is feeling a little better, but still having a tough time coming back from some physical challenges. His Spirit is amazing though, and he's itchin' to get back to changing the world for the better through music.

THEN -- I spent a good part of the day downtown in Liberty Plaza (Zuccotti Park) where fair-minded, kind, committed people ares still gathering. Yesterday they were distributing hot food.... to ANYONE who wanted some. It fills my heart.

I stood with one of my 4 sisters, holding a sign that very specifically called out Newt Gingrich. I was incensed after I heard him make this statement about we in the Occupy Movement:

"All the Occupy movements start with a premise that we all owe them everything ...they can self-righteously explain that they are the paragons of virtue to which we owe everything. Now that is a pretty good symptom of how much the left has collapsed as a moral system in this country and why you need to reassert something as simple as saying to them: Go get a job, right after you take a bath."

.

Here's a photo of the sign I held yesterday.

I'll have more about this man, this prime example of the right-wing hypocrisy and the ill-informed fear-driven ideology of a large percentage of the Republican Party that is gripping this many in this country in 2011.

.

In the meantime... I'M HAVING A GREAT TIME THIS WEEKEND, AND I LOVE THE COMPANY!!!!

I do. I love my friends, my work and my Life!

.

Listen, if you're sitting at your computer right his minute, at least you're not in one of those insane retail stores participating in the Black Friday thing.

.

So this might be a sweet time to very calmly call a couple of friends and see if they wanna go to the concert with you in 2 weeks. Yep! The yearly gig is just 2 weeks from tomorrow night... Saturday night, December 10. We're gonna crank up at 7:30 this year in one of the nicest music venues on the Upper Westside of Manhattan. Merkin Concert Hall in the Kaufman Center on West 67th Street. So go ahead an order tickets online or wait until the box office is open to speak directly to either Biz or Shayla or Michael.

Call: 212-501-3330

Or get 'em online right now!

.

I have a couple of really fun ideas about this gig. One of them has to do with the BIG cover song we do every year. I think you guys are gonna love this. I think we're gonna create a good musical memory.

Thanks again to all of you who hung with me this year during our "outdoor" season.

For newcomers, here's a little Photo Gallery from this past Summer. Very cool. Maybe you're in there! (It's still growing!)

.

I'm a very lucky man, and I never forget that!

.

I'll be back tomorrow with a regular update. But for today... make those phone calls and see if you can treat at least one other person to the kind of good time we have every year... just a night of music and laughs and stories and who-knows-what.

.

.

See you there.

.

(If you're brand new here and this is your first time at this site, you can check out the ARCHIVE for a bunch of fun stuff.)

.

.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
