Welcome to the website!

.

.

Y'know?

I am about the least religious person I know. (After all, I'm the man who write "The Religion Song"!) Still, I dig the Christmas season. Anything that has to do with giving and somebody as cool as Santa Claus is okay by me! And a lot of the music doesn't suck either!

I think one of the reasons I do what I do with my Life is that I can remember very clearly what it felt like to be very young. I really do. I feel very lucky to have a very visceral, cellular memory to recall many of the emotions I felt when I was just a kid.

And that's the main reason I really dislike the fact that I started to see companies airing an onslaught of "Christmas" commercials on the first day of November. Best Buy - TMobile - and several others began airing their holiday commercials last week! Now, okay... I get that the holidays represent the bulk of the retail sales year. But when you're a kid, an hour can be an excruciatingly long time to wait for something. A day is... well... when you're a kid a day is like... a whole day!!! And a week or a month is an almost incomprehensibly long time!!!! Something that is gonna happen a month from now is like saying it's gonna happen in another century.

When I was kid, I remember so vividly what it felt like when my Mom told me that Christmas morning was a whole week away. It felt like it was never gonna get here. But now.... holy shit. It was over 60˚ the other day and one cable network aired the animated classic "How The Grinch Stole Christmas"!

These days, kids must either go absolutely insane... or conversely, maybe the anticipation and excitement have been diluted beyond anything I remember when I was a kid.

Everything changes. Just a thought I had today.

Moving on.

TODAY'S UPDATE

.

Hey guys... I sent out an email today to a whole bunch of people, so I wanna give you all an update about the ticket sales for the December 10th concert.

Right now, there are plenty of good seats left. There are 500 seats in Merkin Concert Hall and there isn't a bad seat in the house. If you've ever been there you know... even the balcony is right on top of the stage so it's a very intimate venue. It's still early, but as of today there are about 275 seats left.

So, call a few friends. Make a night of it. And then grab tickets sooner than later to get the best seats. It's a yearly tradition called...

"THE SOMETHING'TH ANNUAL YEAR END CONCERT"

.

You can get tickets online right now by hitting the banner below. But the box office is open today! You can call them directly...

212-501-3330

...and talk to Biz or Shayla. They're great!!!

We laugh as much as we sing at these things! And we have a whole bunch of new songs and a few surprises this year. We'll also be singing a bunch of your favorites from Central Park. Every year I get to share a stage with some of the most amazing, funniest, most generous, good-hearted, fun artists anywhere. This year it's lookin' like the usual suspects... George Wurzbach, Teresa Reynolds, Nelson Montana, Ryan Cavan, David Marcus and Chris Tedesco.

It's only about 5 weeks away. And now that we're into November, tickets start flying.

.

Cool?

.

Okay... once again, in support of OWS! HERE'S THE NEWEST VIDEO! (It is intended to help counter the distorted and often purposely skewed image of the "Occupy Wall Street" movement by much of the "news" media. You can help by turning all your friends onto this video.)

.

How does an idea or a feeling make it all the way around the planet in one week or one day?

YOU!

Dat's how!

Send this video to everyone you know. Send it to people you don't know! Post it to your Facebook pages. Email it to Congress. Send it everywhere!

Here's the link: http://youtu.be/VTFYodl5k6Y

Rock on. See you downtown in Liberty Plaza!

HEY!

Thanks for another typically amazing year. 20 years... I've been "That Guitar Man from Central Park". And entire generation, for cryin' out loud.

Very cool. Here's a Photo Gallery from this season. Maybe you're in there! (It's still growing!)

.

Thanks!

Okay now, for any newcomers... here's something about one of the two big projects we're cookin' here at the site.

Y'know? Music is most often a "mirror" to help reflect the world around us. But sometimes it's also a "hammer" to help shape the world around us. Both ways... it usually feels great if you're doin' it right!

In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it.

Here's a little 10-minute video from Tony and his wife... explaining the project.

.

And here's a link to visit if YOU wanna be a real part of this process.

Welcome to all you newcomers! WELCOME to you if this is your first time here at the website! I hope you bookmark it and check back every day. It's become a very fun, very under-the-radar little New York Secret. You can always keep up with the cool stuff that's goin' on around me and my music and all the amazing people in this circle of friends and fellow-artists.

You can always go back and browse through THE ARCHIVE as far back as you wanna go. I mean... thanks to my friend, my webmaster, and resident evil genius James Marino, you can historically go back through this website all the way back through the Bush years right up until the present. It's really kinda freaky how much content is here on this site.... cartoons, free songs, Photoshop images. Very cool.

And here's the gallery from last Summer!

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
