I've got to clear something up. Now listen... a lot of you have been checking in here from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. Many of you have been following me and my music for years. I want to start of today's update by saying, in all my year's on this planet ...
"I have never acted inappropriately with anyone! Period!"
.
.
.
.
Well, except for all the times I've acted inappropriately.
.
.
Before we get to the fun stuff, I think it's pretty clear to me that if Herman Cain wanted to clear up any questions about his character, he did that emphatically at that press conference.
ANY person who can make a statement like this -- "I have never acted inappropriately with anyone. Period." ...has got to be a deluded, narcissistic, ego-driven person who thinks the rest of us are naive bumpkins who were born sometime last night. I mean, WHO among us can say that with a straight face. Who can say they never spoke at the wrong time, never said or did something wrong in the wrong situation, never hurt somebody's feelings by saying or doing something they later regretted. Watching that press conference was about as head-shakingly fascinating as watching Anthony Weiner being unable to identify his own underwear.
What an asshole! How many more women is he going to accuse of being a liar? And just exactly how does a reasonable person explain how any person winds up with 4 separate accusers, 2 of which were given monetary settlements to go away quietly.
Sometimes these people just make it sooooo easy for me a s a songwriter!!!!!
The new video in support of the "Occupy Wall Street Movement" is further down the page.
.
But before we get to that -- I had kind of a cool idea about the concert in December 10. It's about the one BIG cover song we do every year. To pull it off, I've been talking to some amazing people... amazing artists, wonderful people.... about this gig.
Y'know? Every year, we get that "It's Just Us" feeling in Merkin Concert Hall. You can look around you and see so many of the same shining faces you see all summer in Central Park. It becomes just a little easier to smile. It becomes just a little easier to sing... whether you're a singer or not! It feels good. And this year, there are also gonna be so many wonderful artists in the house, the feeling just has to be something special.
My pal, Sid Bernstein (The man who brought The Beatles to America) is gonna be with us again. One of my favorite people and songwriters in this town, Cassandra Kubinski, will be there. I'm thinkin' that Athena Reich, Kylie Edmond and the amazing Julie Kathryn are gonna be in the audience as well. Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Dean Love will be getting the whole thing on video. Tony, Emmy and Academy Award-winner Tony Walton is expected to be in the house. When you have that much gold in one place, y'never know what's gonna happen.
.
Right now, there are plenty of good seats left. There are 500 seats in Merkin Concert Hall and there isn't a bad seat in the house. If you've ever been there you know... even the balcony is right on top of the stage so it's a very intimate venue. It's still early, but as of today there are about 275 seats left.
So, call a few friends. Make a night of it. And then grab tickets sooner than later to get the best seats. It's a yearly tradition called...
"THE SOMETHING'TH ANNUAL YEAR END CONCERT"
.
You can get tickets online right now by hitting the banner below. But the box office is open today! You can call them directly...

...and talk to Biz or Shayla. They're great!!!
We laugh as much as we sing at these things! And we have a whole bunch of new songs and a few surprises this year. We'll also be singing a bunch of your favorites from Central Park. Every year I get to share a stage with some of the most amazing, funniest, most generous, good-hearted, fun artists anywhere. This year it's lookin' like the usual suspects... George Wurzbach, Teresa Reynolds, Nelson Montana, Ryan Cavan, David Marcus and Chris Tedesco.
It's only about 5 weeks away. And now that we're into November, tickets start flying.
.
Cool?
.
Okay... once again, in support of OWS! HERE'S THE NEWEST VIDEO!(It is intended to help counter the distorted and often purposely skewed image of the "Occupy Wall Street" movement by much of the "news" media. You can help by turning all your friends onto this video.)
.
How does an idea or a feeling make it all the way around the planet in one week or one day?
YOU!
Dat's how!
Send this video to everyone you know. Send it to people you don't know! Post it to your Facebook pages. Email it to Congress. Send it everywhere!
Thanks for another typically amazing year. 20 years... I've been "That Guitar Man from Central Park". And entire generation, for cryin' out loud.
Very cool. Here's a Photo Gallery from this season. Maybe you're in there! (It's still growing!)
.
Thanks!
Okay now, for any newcomers... here's something about one of the two big projects we're cookin' here at the site.
Y'know? Music is most often a "mirror" to help reflect the world around us. But sometimes it's also a "hammer" to help shape the world around us. Both ways... it usually feels great if you're doin' it right!
In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it.
Here's a little 10-minute video from Tony and his wife... explaining the project.
.
Welcome to all you newcomers! WELCOME to you if this is your first time here at the website! I hope you bookmark it and check back every day. It's become a very fun, very under-the-radar little New York Secret. You can always keep up with the cool stuff that's goin' on around me and my music and all the amazing people in this circle of friends and fellow-artists.
You can always go back and browse through THE ARCHIVE as far back as you wanna go. I mean... thanks to my friend, my webmaster, and resident evil genius James Marino, you can historically go back through this website all the way back through the Bush years right up until the present. It's really kinda freaky how much content is here on this site.... cartoons, free songs, Photoshop images. Very cool.

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
