IF YOU'RE IN NYC... HOPE I SEE YOU DOWNTOWN AT ZUCCOTTI PARK DURING THE DAY OR AT FOLEY SQUARE THIS EVENING AT 5:00
.
Man! Have we got a great gig comin' up in less than 4 weeks!!! Seriously. I got together in the studio with some of the artists in the band and we had out first run at a bunch of the new songs for this year's concert. I shared some of my ideas for a few things we might do, and a few surprises we might throw at you guys... and I think we all felt that this year's concert is gonna be something special.
Now -- at this time of the year, I'm all about the fun that we're gonna have at...
"The Something'th Annual Year End Concert"
.
.
So yeah, at this time of year it's a lot of fun. But at this particular time in history, with some of the recent events that are going on in this town, I'm also very serious about another part of my job description. Y'see, I'm an American singer/songwriter, a folk singer and a man who cares passionately about Reason and Fairness. So of course I am in support of the "Occupy Wall Street" movement. If you don't feel you know what the movement is all about... FIND OUT! (Don't just compliantly buy the crap you're seeing on the TV news.)
Mayor Mike Bloomberg did the movement a great service this week. He put a face on precisely what's wrong with the police/government/free-press/free-citizenry dynamic in 21st century America... and put into focus how apathy and disinterest got us here.
Still, I feel that Life is all about balance. So we'll keep the fun here on this page today! Here's a little song we did at the "Year End Concert" last year that kinda speaks to the apathy and disinterest I'm talkin' about. I've got some more to write.

BUT!!!!
This concert is NOT overtly political. It's just FUN! It's become a yearly tradition that we all look forward to every year. I call it -- a great way to kick the year in the ass as it heads out the door!
No kiddin' around... if you haven't gotten tickets yet, call a few friends this week and then call the box office. Or get them online. Either way. There honestly isn't a bad seat in that concert hall. Some of the best seats in the theater are actually in the balcony, because that balcony is right on top of the stage. It's a very intimate venue for a 500-seat house. It really is.
I have a couple of really fun ideas about this gig. One of them has to do with the BIG cover song we do every year. I think you guys are gonna love this. I think we're gonna create a good musical memory.
Right now, there are plenty of good seats left. As of today there are about 250 seats left. So, call a few friends. Make a night of it. And then grab tickets sooner than later. It's a yearly tradition called.
.
You can get tickets online right now by hitting the banner below. But the box office is open today! You can call them directly...

...and talk to Biz or Shayla. They're great!!!
We laugh as much as we sing at these things! And we have a whole bunch of new songs and a few surprises this year. We'll also be singing a bunch of your favorites from Central Park.
It's less than 4 weeks away. And now that we're into November, tickets start flying.
NOW -- here's a song I'm gonna debut with the bad at the gig on December 10th. And once again, I wanna ask you guys to keep this video moving around the planet. (It is intended to help counter the distorted and often purposely skewed image of the "Occupy Wall Street" movement by much of the "news" media. You can help by turning all your friends onto this video.)
THE NEWEST SONG AND VIDEO!

How does an idea or a feeling make it all the way around the planet in one week or one day?
YOU!
Dat's how!

I wanna say thank again to every single one of you who spent even one afternoon with me in Central Park this past year.... or ever! You make me feel like the luckiest man alive.

Y'know? This was year #20 that I've been known as "That Guitar Man from Central Park". As the result of sharing all those typically amazing afternoons of music an laughs in the middle of the greatest city in the world, I've become aware that there are always a lot of you checking in from different parts of the country and different parts of the world.
For newcomers, here's a little Photo Gallery from this past Summer. Very cool. Maybe you're in there! (It's still growing!)
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
