Hey guys!

Okay, lookin' forward to the next really cool thing. We're are now less than 8 weeks away from "The Something'th Annual Year End concert". (More about that further down the page.)

But, what a few days I've just had!

Yesterday I was back down at the site of "Occupy Wall Street". I'm so, so impressed with the organization evolving out of initially confused intention down there. So impressed. (Tell you more about that all this week.)

And on Friday, I shot another national network TV commercial... working with such great professionals and nice, nice people. The woman who plays my wife in the spot is a gem - smart, funny and beautiful. Really glad I got to know her and work with her. I'll tell you more about that in the weeks to come.

BUT in between those two days... on Saturday -- I closed out year #20 as "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I hafta say, although the weather was blustery and the crowd was a bit thinner than our biggest days out there, it really turned into a prefect way to end another typically amazing season. Singing with Teresa Reynolds again was a blast! Eric from Germany made an appearance. "Hill Regular" Frankie sang a song again. We nearly capsized another rowboat. (Long story) More couples shared their "first dance" with us. And I got to run some brand new songs past you guys.

Emmy Award wining filmmaker Dean Love was back out there with his lens, and photographer David Hayase was out there again shooting moments. I'll be back all week with photos from this past Saturday. Here's the first batch from David.

. . . . . .

Y'know? One thing that always stands out when I look at the photos people send in... is the age-range of the people sitting on that little hill, all smiling together, all laughing together, all singing the same songs and laughing at life in the same way. It's kind of amazing and baffling to me that no one in "the business" has ever happened upon this phenomenal thing that's been running for 20 years in the middle of Central Park and said, "Hey! If this works in this city... it's probably the same all across the country and around the world."

.

. . . . . . . . . .

AND... what can I ever say about having Teresa Reynolds show up almost every weekend to sing with me.

Hey yesterday I made a couple of songs and a few videos available for free for anyone to pass around who is behind the basic sentiment of "Occupy Wall Street". I'm just gonna make them available again today... just another little give-away.

WHERE'S THE VOICE
Download the song for free.

And here's one from back on '04. (Somethings never change.... unless WE change them!)

WHERE'DAT MONEY GO?

And here are a few videos for you to pass around. Hope some of them help you think and others help you smile today.

Saturday was our last day in Central Park for 2011.

But we're only finished with the "outdoor season"!!! We've got one more really un-miss-able event right around the corner this year -- truly something you don't wanna miss. If you've ever been to one, you know what I'm talkin' about. If you've never been to one... THIS is gonna be a good one to catch you up!

It's a yearly tradition we call...

"THE SOMETHING'TH ANNUAL YEAR END CONCERT"

.

AND!!!

THE TICKETS ARE ALREADY ON SALE FOR THE CONCERT ON DECEMBER 10 !!!

.

And the box office is open today! You can call them today...

212-501-3330

...to make sure you get the very best seats.

I mean, there isn't a bad seat in Merkin Concert Hall in The Kaufman Center. there really isn't. If you've ever been there you know... it's a beautiful 500-seat venue which is designed for orchestral concerts. So, it's a wide stage with a very intimate feel.

Every year I get to share a stage with some of the most amazing, funniest, most generous, good-hearted, fun artists anywhere... and that's at Merkin Concert Hall in The Kaufman Center in New York City. This year it's lookin' like the usual suspects... George Wurzbach, Teresa Reynolds, Nelson Montana, Ryan Cavan, David Marcus and Chris Tedesco.

Yeah, I know right now December 10th might feel like a long way off. But it's really less than 8 weeks away. And you know how it goes once we get into November, tickets start flying.

So, it might be a good idea to kinda plan your night around Saturday night, December 10th soon. Y'know? Call a few friends. See who's gonna be in town. See who feels like grabbing dinner in Manhattan that weekend and catching the show.

.

If you already know that you wanna be at this show and you wanna grab the very best seats, you can get them today!!!!
Cool?

In the meantime, for any newcomers... Here's something about one of the two big projects we're cookin' here at the site.

Y'know? Music is most often a "mirror" to help reflect the world around us. But sometimes it's also a "hammer" to help shape the world around us. Both ways... it usually feels great if you're doin' it right!

We're still looking of the right person to direct the piece and we could still use some help financially. We've raised about $20,000 for the workshop but could probably use about another $5,000 to get it on it's feet. So... if you're inclined to help (Or you're one of those people who just has too damned much money and wants to put it to good use!) ... this is what we're trying to do. Maybe it's time to reach a larger audience!!!! Maybe on Broadway!

Okay now you can find out how YOU can be a part of this new project here.

In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it. I'll be inviting all of you to another one of those small, unplugged work sessions very soon, so keep checking back. The last 2 filled up in a matter of hours.

Here's a little 10-minute video from Tony and his wife... explaining the project.

And here's a link to visit if YOU wanna be a real part of this process.

Welcome to all you newcomers! WELCOME to you if this is your first time here at the website! I hope you bookmark it and check back every day. It's become a very fun, very under-the-radar little New York Secret. You can always keep up with the cool stuff that's goin' on around me and my music and all the amazing people in this circle of friends and fellow-artists.

You can always go back and browse through THE ARCHIVE as far back as you wanna go. I mean... thanks to my friend, my webmaster, and resident evil genius James Marino, you can historically go back through this website all the way back through the Bush years right up until the present. It's really kinda freaky how much content is here on this site.... cartoons, free songs, Photoshop images. Very cool.

This year's PHOTO GALLERY will include lots of great images from out season inCentral Park.

VIDEO TIME

Here's another beautiful moment on a summer afternoon in Central Park when a girl named Frankie asked me if she could sing a great George Harrison song for the crowd. One of the things that really touched was the way a few hundred people sounded... so gently singing "do-do-do-doo" to help out in the sweetest way.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
