Here we are... new week. First week after the "outdoor" season has ended.

BUT! I spent Friday and Saturday downtown with my pal, Dean Love, shooting footage for the new music video in support of the "Occupy Wall Street" movement. Hoping to be able to show you guys something this week. We ran into so many Good people. Teresa Reynolds came down with us on Friday and I'm hoping to put together something we'll be proud to show the world. The purpose is to show a more accurate depiction of the people in Zucotti Park and throughout the movement than the nonsensically skewed portrait we're seeing in the "news" media.... and to counter the all intentionally skewed way the protestors are being portrayed on FOX.

Some cynics have sent me email saying things like, "Oh what? You think you're gonna make a difference by writing a little song? You think these losers sleeping in a park are gonna change the world?"

Firstly, writing songs is what I do. It is the single best commodity I can bring to any cause. That... and the resource of this website and all of you Good people.

Secondly... THAT'S the point of the song and music video?! It is exactly that!!! To show that these are not shiftless, lazy malcontents down there. To show that these are just Good people who are angry, fed up, and honestly don't know what else to do! (What's the alternative? Remain silent. Stay home and watch "Dancing with the Stars"?) That's why me and Dean are putting all this time and effort into this thing. AND... it just feels Good and right.

I mean, there isn't a bad seat in Merkin Concert Hall in The Kaufman Center. there really isn't. If you've ever been there you know... it's a beautiful 500-seat venue which is designed for orchestral concerts. So, it's a wide stage with a very intimate feel.

Every year I get to share a stage with some of the most amazing, funniest, most generous, good-hearted, fun artists anywhere... and that's at Merkin Concert Hall in The Kaufman Center in New York City. This year it's lookin' like the usual suspects... George Wurzbach, Teresa Reynolds, Nelson Montana, Ryan Cavan, David Marcus and Chris Tedesco.

Yeah, I know right now December 10th might feel like a long way off. But it's really less than 8 weeks away. And you know how it goes once we get into November, tickets start flying.

So, it might be a good idea to kinda plan your night around Saturday night, December 10th soon. Y'know? Call a few friends. See who's gonna be in town. See who feels like grabbing dinner in Manhattan that weekend and catching the show.

In the meantime, for any newcomers... Here's something about one of the two big projects we're cookin' here at the site.

Y'know? Music is most often a "mirror" to help reflect the world around us. But sometimes it's also a "hammer" to help shape the world around us. Both ways... it usually feels great if you're doin' it right!

We're still looking of the right person to direct the piece and we could still use some help financially. We've raised about $20,000 for the workshop but could probably use about another $5,000 to get it on it's feet. So... if you're inclined to help (Or you're one of those people who just has too damned much money and wants to put it to good use!) ... this is what we're trying to do. Maybe it's time to reach a larger audience!!!! Maybe on Broadway!

In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it. I'll be inviting all of you to another one of those small, unplugged work sessions very soon, so keep checking back. The last 2 filled up in a matter of hours.

Hey listen, as I'm wrapping up my 20th season as "That Guitar Man from Central Park", a whole bunch of us are thinking it's time to bring the whole thing to a much larger audience.

Y'know? I get to work with some of the most amazing, generous and talented artists. They're all wonderful people, too, or I wouldn't call them my friends as well as colleagues. And as much as I like writing song, putting my guitar on my shoulder and being "the guy", I also love being "the guy who gets to open a door for the other guys!"

So, my buddy and I are gonna try to get this project on it's feet.

He's Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Dean Love, and this is really his baby. He's asked me to host it and help bring my artist-friends to the project as well... hopefully letting the whole world in on some of the wonderful things they're doing.
