Here we are.

Yes. Finished the first part of that other gig yesterday so I'm heading to Central Park.

Another Saturday in New York City. Another day when I will pack up my stuff and head to Central Park, stand barefoot by The Lake, put my guitar on my shoulder... and see what happens.

But this is the last Saturday we'll get to do this for another season.

So, if you're in town I hope you decide to come on out and hang with me a little while. I've been doing this for a long, long time but every year is special. This year was wonderful in it's own way for so, so many reasons. I think I'm saying good bye to this Summer season with a different kind of feeling than other years... a good, good feeling. I feel very good and right about most every single thing that's gone down this year. It's nice to be able to say that. Wrote some new songs. Met some new friends. Started chasing some new dreams. Shared hundreds of songs, stories, thoughts and feelings with thousands and thousands and thousands of people from New York, from all across the country and different parts of this planet.

Not a bad thing to do with a Life.

No kidding.

So I'll see you guys out there today. And then I'll see you back here at the website every day this week. And then the next time I'll see you all will be at "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" on December 10th.

Seriously, what a great Summer.

I honestly feel like the luckiest man alive. As an artist... who gets to do what I do?! Nobody telling me what songs to write. Nobody telling me what songs to play and sing. Season after season sharing thoughts, and feelings, and stories, and laughs with so many beautiful people. Damn!

Also... between now and the December concert, I'm gonna reach out and see how I can lend some support to those of us who are protesting down on Wall Street and around the world. When I come up with something, I'll be sure to let you guys know in case any of you wanna join me. (Of course, I'll hafta try to stay out of jail or at least raise the bail money for December 10th!)

Y'know? One thing that always stands out when I look at the photos people send in... is the age-range of the people sitting on that little hill, all smiling together, all laughing together, all singing the same songs and laughing at life in the same way. It's kind of amazing and baffling to me that no one in "the business" has ever happened upon this phenomenal thing that's been running for 20 years in the middle of Central Park and said, "Hey! If this works in this city... it's probably the same all across the country and around the world."

AND... what can I ever say about having Teresa Reynolds show up almost every weekend to sing with me.

I oughta tell you right now that the tickets for the concert on December 10 are already on sale! You can get them online right now, or you can call the box office tomorrow. They're closed today but it's open on Sunday!

I mean, there isn't a bad seat in Merkin Concert Hall in The Kaufman Center. there really isn't. If you've ever been there you know... it's a beautiful 500-seat venue which is designed for orchestral concerts. So, it's a wide stage with a very intimate feel.

Wait! Wait! Wait! I always forget a lot of you are new to all of this. What the hell am I talking about!? I'm talkin' about...

"The Something'th Annual Year End Concert"

Every year I get to share a stage with some of the most amazing, funniest, most generous, good-hearted, fun artists anywhere... and that's at Merkin Concert Hall in The Kaufman Center in New York City. This year it's lookin' like the usual suspects... George Wurzbach, Teresa Reynolds, Nelson Montana, Ryan Cavan, David Marcus and Chris Tedesco.

Yeah, I know right now December 10th might feel like a long way off. But this coming weekend is already the last weekend of September. And you know how it goes once we get into November, tickets start flying.

So, it might be a good idea to kinda plan your night around Saturday night, December 10th soon. Y'know? Call a few friends. See who's gonna be in town. See who feels like grabbing dinner in Manhattan that weekend and catching the show.

I wanna jump start myself, my enthusiasm, and everybody's awareness about just a couple of really fun and exciting projects on the horizon. FIRST -- this is the new Broadway project. I'm gonna talk about this a little bit more tomorrow as well. I really feel that it's time to take the whole feeling we get in Central Park to a much larger audience. I'm just about to enter a new place where this little "Broadway" piece will really begin to come together. Now I'm just in the "dating" process... to find the right producers to make it a reality... and the right director/co-writer/co-creator to bring this thing to life.

Seriously. This is getting exciting. But then again.... it's what I do. This is the kind of stuff that makes me live.

In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it.

Hey listen, as I'm wrapping up my 20th season as "That Guitar Man from Central Park", a whole bunch of us are thinking it's time to bring the whole thing to a much larger audience.

Y'know? I get to work with some of the most amazing, generous and talented artists. They're all wonderful people, too, or I wouldn't call them my friends as well as colleagues. And as much as I like writing song, putting my guitar on my shoulder and being "the guy", I also love being "the guy who gets to open a door for the other guys!"

So, my buddy and I are gonna try to get this project on it's feet.

He's Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Dean Love, and this is really his baby. He's asked me to host it and help bring my artist-friends to the project as well... hopefully letting the whole world in on some of the wonderful things they're doing.

Y'know, honestly -- what a very cool thing it is I get to do with my Life and my music. I'm so, so grateful to every single one of you who are reading this right now... every single person who's ever hung out with me even once in that park. It means so much to me to know that there are people who "get" what my music and my stories have to say to the world. It reminds me... I guess, it reminds all of us that we're not alone and that there are others who "get it".
