Well, there goes another season in Central Park and there goes another October!

Hey listen... an awful lot of people send me email from all over the place, very often they send me links to videos from bands or something they found funny on YouTube.

But my friend Andrea sent me a video last night that I HAD to share with you guys. And then we'll get to some more fun stuff today!!!!

.

I think this ROCKS!!!! And I'm on board!!!!

.

Now, I know an awful lot of you check in from different parts of the country and many from different parts of the world. But here in The States...

Today is Halloween. So... HAPPY HALLOWEEN

It's a day when kids hit the streets and my face just hurts from smiling at the "criminal cuteness" everywhere. Each little kid in a costume is cuter than the last. But for grownups I also just think this is, hands down, the sexiest of all American holidays... and has been for half a century.

Hope you're having fun this week!

Just went into the vault to pull out one of my favorite Photoshop images... although, I may have actually depicted reality. I don't know.

Today... I've got a pretty cool costume. I'm gonna dress up as somebody who gives a damn, and head back down to "Liberty Square" to stand with the fellowship that's become known as "Occupy Wall Street". I call it a "fellowship", because by definition a fellowship is a "union of peers; a company of friends with a common purpose". That pretty much hits the nail on the head.

Hey listen... we have a lot of fun around here. And on December 10th I'm gonna share a stage with an amazing bunch of artists, and share another amazing night with a concert hall full of wonderful people for...

"The Something'th Annual Year End Concert"

(More about that in a minute)

HERE'S THE LATEST VIDEO! (It is intended to help counter the distorted and often purposely skewed image of the "Occupy Wall Street" movement by much of the "news" media. You can help by turning all your friends onto this video.)

.

How does an idea or a feeling make it all the way around the planet in one week or one day?

YOU!

Dat's how!

Send this video to everyone you know. Send it to people you don't know! Post it to your Facebook pages. Email it to Congress. Send it everywhere!

I've been getting requests for the chords and lyrics to the new song I wrote and, along with my pal Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Dean Love, shot a video. So if you're a guitar or piano player.. (I'm not sure the song works on tuba, but you can try it!) ... here are the chords and lyrics. It's really simple song. It was written that way intentionally. Have fun.

Rock on. See you downtown in Liberty Square!

OKAY NOW!!!

THE TICKETS ARE ALREADY ON SALE FOR THE CONCERT ON DECEMBER 10 !!!

.

And the box office is open today! You can call them today...

212-501-3330

...to make sure you get the very best seats.

I mean, there isn't a bad seat in Merkin Concert Hall in The Kaufman Center. there really isn't. If you've ever been there you know... it's a beautiful 500-seat venue which is designed for orchestral concerts. So, it's a wide stage with a very intimate feel.

Every year I get to share a stage with some of the most amazing, funniest, most generous, good-hearted, fun artists anywhere... and that's at Merkin Concert Hall in The Kaufman Center in New York City. This year it's lookin' like the usual suspects... George Wurzbach, Teresa Reynolds, Nelson Montana, Ryan Cavan, David Marcus and Chris Tedesco.

Yeah, I know right now December 10th might feel like a long way off. But it's really about 6 weeks away. And you know how it goes once we get into November, tickets start flying.

So, it might be a good idea to kinda plan your night around Saturday night, December 10th soon. Y'know? Call a few friends. See who's gonna be in town. See who feels like grabbing dinner in Manhattan that weekend and catching the show.

.

If you already know that you wanna be at this show and you wanna grab the very best seats, you can get them today!!!!

Cool?

HEY!

Thanks for another typically amazing year. 20 years... I've been "That Guitar Man from Central Park". And entire generation, for cryin' out loud.

Very cool. Here's a Photo Gallery from this season. Maybe you're in there! (It's still growing!)

.

Thanks!

Okay now, for any newcomers... here's something about one of the two big projects we're cookin' here at the site.

Y'know? Music is most often a "mirror" to help reflect the world around us. But sometimes it's also a "hammer" to help shape the world around us. Both ways... it usually feels great if you're doin' it right!

We're still looking of the right person to direct the piece and we could still use some help financially. We've raised about $20,000 for the workshop but could probably use about another $5,000 to get it on it's feet. So... if you're inclined to help (Or you're one of those people who just has too damned much money and wants to put it to good use!) ... this is what we're trying to do. Maybe it's time to reach a larger audience!!!! Maybe on Broadway!

Okay now you can find out how YOU can be a part of this new project here.

In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it. I'll be inviting all of you to another one of those small, unplugged work sessions very soon, so keep checking back. The last 2 filled up in a matter of hours.

Here's a little 10-minute video from Tony and his wife... explaining the project.

And here's a link to visit if YOU wanna be a real part of this process.

Welcome to all you newcomers! WELCOME to you if this is your first time here at the website! I hope you bookmark it and check back every day. It's become a very fun, very under-the-radar little New York Secret. You can always keep up with the cool stuff that's goin' on around me and my music and all the amazing people in this circle of friends and fellow-artists.

You can always go back and browse through THE ARCHIVE as far back as you wanna go. I mean... thanks to my friend, my webmaster, and resident evil genius James Marino, you can historically go back through this website all the way back through the Bush years right up until the present. It's really kinda freaky how much content is here on this site.... cartoons, free songs, Photoshop images. Very cool.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
