Welcome to the website...

Okay, now as always there are a bunch of you who check in here from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. But here in town, we just past the Fall Equinox so it's officially Autumn in New York. That means y'never really know how many more afternoons we're gonna get to share together in Central Park.

Okay, that's it! What the hell! Why not!?

Okay! I'm heading out to Central Park with my guitar.

And after the Permit Office at the Parks Department denied us that "make-up permit" last weekend, a complete rain-out today would really putting a damper on the end of the "outdoor" season. Seriously... this has the possibility of being a lean autumn around here.

But it's all cool. It's just life.

If anyone heads out there with me today, bring something dry to sit on and we'll see where the day leads. I think I'll run a brand new song past you guys today.... possibly 2. I love it when I've got a work in progress and I can fly the un-frozen lyrics out there past you guys to see what lands and what doesn't. The song I'm calling "Yes" is very close to being what it wants to be. The other song is something that has been sitting on the back burner of my consciousness since I got fired from the Sunset gig downtown in The Village this past Summer. I'm pretty sure the name of that song is...

"There Will Always Be"

(It might turn out to be one of those backdoor curve-balls. We'll see.) Maybe I'll create a couple of mp3 samples I can let you guys here on the website this week... just to let you in on a couple of works-in-progress.

Hey listen guys... tomorrow I'm heading up to Yankee Stadium with a friend and we're gonna see what The Boys can do with those guys in the rear view mirror.

They're gonna hafta find a way to get these games in rain or shine, because even though they don't mean a whole lot to The New York Yankees, these games mean an awful lot for the playoff hopes of The Boston Red Sox, The Tampa Bay Rays and The California Angels. (I'm sorry... I will NOT call them "The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim". That's just stupid.)

So listen! This weekend might be a good time for you to start thinking about who you would like to bring to...

"The Something'th Annual Year End Concert"

Every year I get to share a stage with some of the most amazing, funniest, most generous, good-hearted, fun artists anywhere... and that's at Merkin Concert Hall in The Kaufman Center in New York City. This year it's lookin' like the usual suspects... Geroge Wurzbach, Teresa Reynolds, Nelson Montana, Ryan Cavan, David Marcus and Chris Tedesco.

Yeah, I know right now December 10th might feel like a long way off. But this coming weekend is already the last weekend of September. And you know how it goes once we get into November, tickets start flying.

So, it might be a good idea to kinda plan your night around Saturday night, December 10th soon. Y'know? Call a few friends. See who's gonna be in town. See who feels like grabbing dinner in Manhattan that weekend and catching the show.

Okay, now here's some of the usual fare. This stuff is mostly for the newcomers.

I wanna jump start myself, my enthusiasm, and everybody's awareness about just a couple of really fun and exciting projects on the horizon. FIRST -- this is the new Broadway project. I'm gonna talk about this a little bit more tomorrow as well. I really feel that it's time to take the whole feeling we get in Central Park to a much larger audience. I'm just about to enter a new place where this little "Broadway" piece will really begin to come together. Now I'm just in the "dating" process... to find the right producers to make it a reality... and the right director/co-writer/co-creator to bring this thing to life.

Seriously. This is getting exciting. But then again.... it's what I do. This is the kind of stuff that makes me live.

In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it.

Hey listen, as I'm wrapping up my 20th season as "That Guitar Man from Central Park", a whole bunch of us are thinking it's time to bring the whole thing to a much larger audience.

Y'know? I get to work with some of the most amazing, generous and talented artists. They're all wonderful people, too, or I wouldn't call them my friends as well as colleagues. And as much as I like writing song, putting my guitar on my shoulder and being "the guy", I also love being "the guy who gets to open a door for the other guys!"

So, my buddy and I are gonna try to get this project on it's feet.

He's Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Dean Love, and this is really his baby. He's asked me to host it and help bring my artist-friends to the project as well... hopefully letting the whole world in on some of the wonderful things they're doing.

Y'know, honestly -- what a very cool thing it is I get to do with my Life and my music. I'm so, so grateful to every single one of you who are reading this right now... every single person who's ever hung out with me even once in that park. It means so much to me to know that there are people who "get" what my music and my stories have to say to the world. It reminds me... I guess, it reminds all of us that we're not alone and that there are others who "get it".
