I wanna welcome all of you checking from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. Here in NYC... well, this weekend was a blast.

First on Saturday, I wrestled with the decision to pack up all the equipment and head to Central Park on a day when the weather looked so, so shaky. I finally said, "What the hell" and showed up. The day turned into tone of the sweetest little surprises of the year. I really didn't think ANYONE would venture out there on a dank and dreary day like that. But doncha know... I played and sang for about 5 hours, Teresa Reynolds came out and sang a bunch, and we all laughed and had a genuinely great time. I even ran a couple of brand new songs past the crowd.

Thank you to every single one of you who showed up, sat on the wet grass and hung with me on Saturday. Here are a bunch of photos from a nice guy who's been shooting our days out there most of the Summer... David Hayase.

Then yesterday, it was back up to Yankee Stadium to close out the regular season against those rivals from Boston. Man! I'm tellin'! It's good time to be a Yankees fan and a really rough time to be a Red Sox fan. I mean, I love baseball and I know how it feels to watch your team in an inexplicable spiral downward. It sucks. But... that's why they play the games. And just when it looked like the Yanks were gonna help Boston complete a collapse for the Wild Card spot, The Red Sox won a hard-fought, 5-hour game last night. Boston could still turn it around, limp into the playoffs, get hot and wind up in The World Series. But the way Yankees spanked 'em in the first 2 games in the Bronx...

The rest is up to the Orioles. And Red Sox fans are once again in the very weird position of having to root for the Yankees to win their last 3 games in Tampa.

BUT HOW PROPHETIC WAS THIS SPOT BY NEW ERA BACK IN APRIL!!!

Hey listen, as I'm wrapping up my 20th season as "That Guitar Man from Central Park", a whole bunch of us are thinking it's time to bring the whole thing to a much larger audience.

Y'know? I get to work with some of the most amazing, generous and talented artists. They're all wonderful people, too, or I wouldn't call them my friends as well as colleagues. And as much as I like writing song, putting my guitar on my shoulder and being "the guy", I also love being "the guy who gets to open a door for the other guys!"

So, my buddy and I are gonna try to get this project on it's feet.

He's Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Dean Love, and this is really his baby. He's asked me to host it and help bring my artist-friends to the project as well... hopefully letting the whole world in on some of the wonderful things they're doing.

Okay, now here's some of the usual fare. This stuff is mostly for the newcomers.

I wanna jump start myself, my enthusiasm, and everybody's awareness about just a couple of really fun and exciting projects on the horizon. FIRST -- this is the new Broadway project. I'm gonna talk about this a little bit more tomorrow as well. I really feel that it's time to take the whole feeling we get in Central Park to a much larger audience. I'm just about to enter a new place where this little "Broadway" piece will really begin to come together. Now I'm just in the "dating" process... to find the right producers to make it a reality... and the right director/co-writer/co-creator to bring this thing to life.

Seriously. This is getting exciting. But then again.... it's what I do. This is the kind of stuff that makes me live.

In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it.

"The Something'th Annual Year End Concert"

Every year I get to share a stage with some of the most amazing, funniest, most generous, good-hearted, fun artists anywhere... and that's at Merkin Concert Hall in The Kaufman Center in New York City. This year it's lookin' like the usual suspects... Geroge Wurzbach, Teresa Reynolds, Nelson Montana, Ryan Cavan, David Marcus and Chris Tedesco.

Yeah, I know right now December 10th might feel like a long way off. But this coming weekend is already the last weekend of September. And you know how it goes once we get into November, tickets start flying.

So, it might be a good idea to kinda plan your night around Saturday night, December 10th soon. Y'know? Call a few friends. See who's gonna be in town. See who feels like grabbing dinner in Manhattan that weekend and catching the show.

Y'know, honestly -- what a very cool thing it is I get to do with my Life and my music. I'm so, so grateful to every single one of you who are reading this right now... every single person who's ever hung out with me even once in that park. It means so much to me to know that there are people who "get" what my music and my stories have to say to the world. It reminds me... I guess, it reminds all of us that we're not alone and that there are others who "get it".
