Hey guys!!!

THANKS AGAIN!!!!

As the season winds down we don't know how many afternoons we're gonna have left in the "outdoor" season. I always feel that I'm the luckiest man alive to be doing what I'm doing with my music and my life. But at this time of year and after days like yesterday, it's just really in focus.

I mean, it was cloudy. It even drizzled a little. It was HUMID!

But you guys showed up anyway! And even though the crowd was so much smaller than usual, I had a typically amazing time sharing songs with you guys. And singing with Teresa Reynolds yesterday.... well, we almost laughed as much as we sang! And that ALWAYS feels good -- belly laughs in the middle of a love song... because of an unexpected train wreck in the song that the audience doesn't even notice. (You people in then arts will understand why that's just a tonic for the soul.)

Just fun.

I'm sure that new friend, David Hayase, will be sending lots of photos from yesterday's hang. He was out there again.

.

AND if you were reading yesterday's continuous updates, you know that I was THIS close to baggin' it and not even attempting to head out to the park with my guitar. I'm really glad I did.

Thank you.

Now, soon we'll be starting the "indoor" season with the big, traditional gig at Merkin Concert Hall on December 10th. You're NOT gonna wanna get sold outta thins one this year. (More about that further down the page.)

TODAY!!!!

I'm heading back up to Yankee Stadium with a good friend to see if the boys will knock The Red Sox out of the post season all together. I honestly don't have a preference if The Red Sox get in or if The Tampa Bay Rays beat 'em out. It's just fun to be in the position to watch all the action in the rear view mirror!

.

Then it's back to work this week. I'm working on 2 new songs. I ran both of these works-in-progress by the people in the park yesterday and I'm pretty sure I'm on the right track with both. I mean, the lyric is not even close to finish on the song "There Will Always Be" and yet I know that it's really, really gonna fly.

Maybe a song like that will make it into one or both of these projects. I wanna jump start myself, my enthusiasm, and everybody's awareness about just a couple of really fun and exciting projects on the horizon. FIRST -- this is the new Broadway project. I'm gonna talk about this a little bit more tomorrow as well. I really feel that it's time to take the whole feeling we get in Central Park to a much larger audience. I'm just about to enter a new place where this little "Broadway" piece will really begin to come together. Now I'm just in the "dating" process... to find the right producers to make it a reality... and the right director/co-writer/co-creator to bring this thing to life.

Seriously. This is getting exciting. But then again.... it's what I do. This is the kind of stuff that makes me live.

In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it.

Here's a little 10-minute video from Tony and his wife... explaining the project.

Hey listen, as I'm wrapping up my 20th season as "That Guitar Man from Central Park", a whole bunch of us are thinking it's time to bring the whole thing to a much larger audience.

Y'know? I get to work with some of the most amazing, generous and talented artists. They're all wonderful people, too, or I wouldn't call them my friends as well as colleagues. And as much as I like writing song, putting my guitar on my shoulder and being "the guy", I also love being "the guy who gets to open a door for the other guys!"

So, my buddy and I are gonna try to get this project on it's feet.

He's Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Dean Love, and this is really his baby. He's asked me to host it and help bring my artist-friends to the project as well... hopefully letting the whole world in on some of the wonderful things they're doing.

THERE

I guess if you've been coming around here at all, you know about this and that we need your help with it! It's a web-series / TV project that I've been telling you about over the past few months and we've finally launched it's funding campaign.

This might be a good time for you to start thinking about who you would like to bring to...

"The Something'th Annual Year End Concert"

Every year I get to share a stage with some of the most amazing, funniest, most generous, good-hearted, fun artists anywhere... and that's at Merkin Concert Hall in The Kaufman Center in New York City. This year it's lookin' like the usual suspects... Geroge Wurzbach, Teresa Reynolds, Nelson Montana, Ryan Cavan, David Marcus and Chris Tedesco.

Yeah, I know right now December 10th might feel like a long way off. But this coming weekend is already the last weekend of September. And you know how it goes once we get into November, tickets start flying.

So, it might be a good idea to kinda plan your night around Saturday night, December 10th soon. Y'know? Call a few friends. See who's gonna be in town. See who feels like grabbing dinner in Manhattan that weekend and catching the show.

.

If you already know that you wanna be at this show and you wanna grab the very best seats, you can get them today!!!!

You can just call the box office directly:

If you're new you can always go back and browse through THE ARCHIVE as far back as you wanna go. I mean... thanks to my friend, my webmaster, and resident evil genius James Marino, you can historically go back through this website all the way back through the Bush years right up until the present. It's really kinda freaky how much content is here on this site.... cartoons, free songs, Photoshop images. Very cool.

Here are a couple of different fun galleries to check out.

.

Y'know, honestly -- what a very cool thing it is I get to do with my Life and my music. I'm so, so grateful to every single one of you who are reading this right now... every single person who's ever hung out with me even once in that park. It means so much to me to know that there are people who "get" what my music and my stories have to say to the world. It reminds me... I guess, it reminds all of us that we're not alone and that there are others who "get it".

Are you new here to this website? Now, you might be one of the people who's checking in here for the first time. (There are always a bunch of newcomers here at the site, especially in the Summer season. Bookmark it every day and check back. I'm gonna start bring more video to this page again very soon.)

GIMME A SHOUT HERE!

(Actually, gimme a shout for any reason at all!)

.

HAVE FUN TODAY!!!!!! (And be cool to each other, okay?)

.

Thanks for everything.

.

Peace ☮

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
