HEY!

The 2 new projects are both a little further down the page. "THERE" will be the webseries/television show that will feature a whole bunch of New York's amazing independent artists every week. And the other thing is "Possibility Junkie" -- the stage project we're dreaming about bringing to Broadway. And we gotta start thinking about the big concert at Merkin Concert Hall this December. But let's start out again with this temporary feature...

Here at the website the "Magic Number" for The Yankees countdown continues. The Yankees lost yesterday, but so did The Red Sox. So the loss by Boston lowers the number by one.

.

Today the number is -- 7

So, who represents today's number?

"The Mick" (Mickey Mantle)

.

If you're not a real baseball fan and you have NO idea what this number thing is, there is a pretty good explanation in THIS UPDATE.

But first I need to say, I really missed you guys this weekend. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a beautiful day this coming Saturday. Then I'll be heading out to Central Park and putting my guitar on my shoulder again.

Hey, y'know what? If you haven't checked this out in a while you might wanna check out this year's PHOTO GALLERY from the "outdoor season" in Central Park. It's pretty much up-to-date except fo that really f*ckin' weird day we had out there a few weeks ago. That'll be entered soon, though. But check out the gallery for the year so far. Maybe you're in there! (Last year's gallery is further down the page.)

There aren't really that many days left in the "outdoor" season. Even if the weather stays warm enough in November, the permits run out at the end of October. Besides that, me and the kids spend November kickin' around songs for "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert". This year's gig is gonna be something really special. Put it on your calendar and start thinking about the troop of friends you wanna bring. This year the gig is on Saturday night, December 10th and we're gonna try for another sell-out.

Seriously, it's a very cool thing to do around the holidays. You can make a night of it with a bunch of friends.... meet for dinner and then come to the concert. Or come to the gig and then go out for a few drinks. Either way, it's kind of a highlight around that time of year and as I always say, "It's a great way to kick the year in the ass as it heads out the door." I'll be making an official announcement about tickets very soon.

Just start thinkin' about it.

THERE

I guess if you've been coming around here at all, you know that Emmy Award-winning filmmaker/director Dean Love has been kicking around an idea that is just kickin'! Well, his web-series / TV project that I've been telling you about over the past few months has launched it's funding campaign.

And then click here to visit the launch website to be a part of all of this. At the site you can see all the cool shit you get for joining this effort.

I'll be telling you guys a lot more about it over the next few weeks.

AND HERE'S A REALLY FUN GALLERY FROM LAST SUMMER!!!

If you're new you can always go back and browse through THE ARCHIVE as far back as you wanna go. I mean... thanks to my friend, my webmaster, and resident evil genius James Marino, you can historically go back through this website all the way back through the Bush years right up until the present. It's really kinda freaky how much content is here on this site.... cartoons, free songs, Photoshop images. Very cool.

Here are a couple of different fun galleries to check out.

Y'know, honestly -- what a very cool thing it is I get to do with my Life and my music. I'm so, so grateful to every single one of you who are reading this right now... every single person who's ever hung out with me even once in that park. It means so much to me to know that there are people who "get" what my music and my stories have to say to the world. It reminds me... I guess, it reminds all of us that we're not alone and that there are others who "get it".

Y'know what? I always say that when you do what you love for a living, when you do what I do for a living, every day of a Life is a vacation day and every day is a work day. So I think filmmaker Dean Love and I are gonna shoot a pitch video for an idea we've been kickin' around for an interactive, internet TV show called "THERE".

I'm really getting to work on a couple of things... one of them is this new Broadway project. I'm gonna talk about this a little bit more tomorrow as well. I really feel that it's time to take the whole feeling we get in Central Park to a much larger audience. I'm just about to enter a new place where this little "Broadway" piece will really begin to come together. Now I'm just in the "dating" process... to find the right producers to make it a reality... and the right director/co-writer/co-creator to bring this thing to life.

Seriously. This is getting exciting. But then again.... it's what I do. This is the kind of stuff that makes me live.

In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it.

Here's a little 10-minute video from Tony and his wife... explaining the project.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
