Yesterday, I had so, so, so much fun watching late-season baseball. Had so much fun yesterday watching The Yankees.

.

.

And I announced that the tickets went on sale for an incredibly fun night on December 10th.

.

.

And I think we'll get to hang out for another fun day of music and laughs this coming Saturday.

.

.

And life goes on.... so, I'll be back a little later today with our regular fun update.

.

.

.

But for right now... I just need to say this out loud. This morning I feel sad for us as Americans. I feel sad for us as a people.

.

.

.

A man was executed in Georgia at 11:08 last night.

.

.

.

Without going into the details we've all heard in the news for the past few days, some say there was doubt as to whether he committed the crime. Others say that our legal system declared definitively that he did. Some say there is more than reasonable doubt. Others say there isn't. But what I have to say right now has nothing to do with his guilt or innocence.

Here is a partial list of the civilized nations on this puny planet which have abolished the death penalty.

Albania, Angola, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Haiti, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Mexico, Monaco, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Philippines, Romania, Rwanda, Serbia, Slovak Republic, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Vatican City, Venezuela.

.

And here is a partial list of the countries who still practice this kind of barbarism.

Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Belize, Botswana, Chad, China, Congo, Cuba, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guyana, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, North Korea, Lebanon, Libya, Mongolia, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Palestinian Authority, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Yemen, Zimbabwe......and The United States of America

.

.

We should be ashamed.

.

.

.

We should feel genuine embarrassment and shame. I think I feel a new song in the room with me. I think it's time for me to do my job.

.

.

.

I'll be back later today.

.

.

I promise.

.

.

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT IT? (Please be honest. Pro death penalty or against... as an artist and as a growing human being I want to know how you feel.)

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
