.

Welcome to the website.

Gonna have a whole lotta good stuff here today. I think I'm gonna keep this page as positive as I can all week while we're being buried in over-the-top, indulgent, exploitive sentimentality about the events of September 11, 2001.

Yes, yes... I was here in New York City.

Yes... I remember. (We all do.)

.

.

And it's important to remember. It's important to really look inside and learn something about ourselves and the world through horrible experiences like that. Hell... I'm an American singer/songwriter. It's part of my job to reflect the events of this world, and sometimes to try help make a difference in whatever small way I can in a song. I feel the best way to honor the memory of loved ones, neighbors and fellow human beings lost in tragedies like the one we experienced 10 years ago is to learn something and then to quietly and powerfully make a difference, to try to make a change for the better in this world so that it never happens again.

But in this "reality-TV world" of the 24 hour news cycle, and because of the obliteration of the line between "news" and entertainment, we're about to share a week of absolute crap... complete with slow motion images and scored with orchestrated background music. Of course all of this sentimentality will be brought to you by Geico and The Nutrisystems Weight Loss Program.

SO!

I've gotta tell you!!! We'll keep it "real" around here all week.

YESTERDAY -- I was given a flash drive with more amazing photos and video from one day in Central Park than I have ever seen before! And they were shot by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Dean Love. So all this week I'll be posting some amazing memories from the "golden" day we had this past weekend.

Let's start of today with more images from this past Saturday in Central Park! I mean... we spent an entire afternoon singing together, and laughing together and shedding one or two tears together.... but mostly singing and laughing.

BUT IT WAS ALSO "HOT DOG DAY"!!!!!

.

So, we'll get back to the music and laughs tomorrow. These photos are dedicated to the "dog"!

.

Look at the faces! This is why I do this every year. Those smiles are etched in my memory forever.

Thanks you New York! Thanks to all of you who hang with me from different parts of this tiny planet!!!!

.

. . . . . . . . . . .

.

Just so very cool!

.

I'LL BE BACK WITH MORE PHOTOS TOMORROW.... but I'm really hoping to get you guys some video that Dean shot this week. And then I'll be telling you all about a really exciting project he's gonna ask all of you to be a part of. A lot of really exciting stuff goin' on around here.

.

.
Y'KNOW WHAT!?

Let's say these things and write these songs and speak to a larger audience. There's a bit about a Broadway Project you might wanna be a part of a little further down this page.

Y'think?

Now, you might be one of the people who's checking in here for the first time. (There are always a bunch of newcomers here at the site, especially in the Summer season. Bookmark it every day and check back. I'm gonna start bring more video to this page again very soon.)

GIMME A SHOUT HERE!

(Actually, gimme a shout for any reason at all!)

.

I'm a lucky man.

If you're new you can always go back and browse through THE ARCHIVE as far back as you wanna go. I mean... thanks to my friend, my webmaster, and resident evil genius James Marino, you can historically go back through this website all the way back through the Bush years right up until the present. It's really kinda freaky how much content is here on this site.... cartoons, free songs, Photoshop images. Very cool.

And the Photo Galleries just keep growing. (Maybe you're in there!!!).

.

AND HERE'S A REALLY FUN GALLERY FROM LAST SUMMER!!!

BTW -- "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" is booked for Saturday night, December 10th. I know it's early, but I wanted to let you know if you're one of those people who travel down from Buffalo, or in from Pennsylvania, or Maryland, or Germany just for this gig.

The internet has made the world a very small campus and that's a really cool thing. Mostly, if you check back at this website every day, I hope you feel that... "It's Just Us" feeling. You're not alone.

That "Broadway" thing...

Okay now you can find out how YOU can be a part of this new project here.

In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it. I'll be inviting all of you to another one of those small, unplugged work sessions very soon, so keep checking back. The last 2 filled up in a matter of hours.

Here's a little 10-minute video from Tony and his wife... explaining the project.

.

And here's a link to visit if YOU wanna be a real part of this process.

Here are a couple of different fun galleries to check out.

HAVE FUN TODAY!!!!!! (And be cool to each other, okay?)

.

.

Thanks for everything.

.

Peace ☮

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
