I first wanna say "Thanks Again" to every single one of you who came out to Central Park to hang with me yesterday. Once again, a typically amazing day.
.
Seriously, I was hoping that the weather would cooperate for the entire day... AND IT DID! (I kinda new it would.) Teresa Reynolds came out to song with me and as usual, we had a blast. We sang classic rock songs... silly songs... original songs... we had a typically amazing day. "Hill-regular" Frankie sang a classic anti-war song. We saw a "rocket squirrel" shoot through the crowd. I got to sing to more beautiful shining faces than any one artist should be allowed to song to in one day.
I'll get back to yesterday in a moment. We really had a great time and a lot of laughs. And I've got the first batch of photos from yesterday a little further down the page.

But here in New York City (As everywhere else, I guess) ... IT'S SUNDAY!
So, listen... a lot of you are checking in from different parts of the country and even many different countries. Here in The States, there is a phenomenon called "the Sunday Morning News Shows". (That's really kind of a misnomer. Very rarely does anyone make news on these tings. Mostly it's just a bunch of lightweight, self-impressed talking-heads like David Gregory and Wolf Blitzer allowing politicians and pundits to insert disingenuous talking points into the public discourse, while politely allowing them to avoid answering the simplest direct questions. People like Gregory and Blitzer are like the kids sitting at the "cool kids table" in the high school cafeteria. It's kinda pathetic, but that where the American news media is these days. We won't even mention a transparent propaganda-machine like FOX... that's for another day.)
So!
I'm always amazed when people are somehow surprised that poll after poll reflects that many people say they get their "news" from watching The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
You wanna know why?
Watch this segment from last Thursday night's show and tell me where this man and his writing staff are not, pardon the pun, right-on-the-money!
I'm sorry. You could watch those silly little people on "Meet the Press" and "The Situation Room" for an entire year and not come away with half as much "Reason" and "Sense". I'm a nightly watcher of The Daily Show. And if you're anything like me.... you're the reason I wrote my song "I Love the Company".
Copy this link and pass it on to the people in your life who "get it".
Um.... if you're new around here, take a few minutes to it the ARCHIVE and browse through the site. There are lots of really fun Photoshop images, FREE songs to download, all kindsa stuff.

Okay... about the Broadway Project.
I'm just about at a new place where this little "Broadway" piece will really begin to come together. Now I'm just in the "dating" process... to find the right director/co-writer/co-creator to bring this thing to life.
Seriously. This is getting exciting.
But then again.... it's what I do. This is the kind of stuff that makes me live. Creating something where there was nothing. Y'know? Following the next inspiration. Taking the next chance. Y'know?
Here's a video from Academy Award-winner Tony Walton and his wife. they "get it" and this guy has more Tony Awards than I have socks!
My feeling is, it's not enough for a show like this to be good... it also oughta be good-for-something.

I'm really enjoying all of your comments about the newest songs, so keep 'em comin'! This was the LIVE debut of this next song in December here in NYC.
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
