Hey... welcome to the website.

BEFORE I GET TO ANYTHING ELSE!

I think The National Weather Service just might be wrong about our weather here in NYC on Saturday. They are calling for heavy rain on Saturday and that Hurricane Irene is gonna hit us hard on Sunday.

I think she's gonna slow down a little and I have kind of feeling that Saturday just might be a good enough day for us to sing in the park. If we get really heavy rain at all, it'll be on Sunday. But the eye of Irene might even make a sharp right and move a little more to the East. I've been wrong before... but not as often as they've been wrong. So, we'll see.

Now... I love the fact that the world is becoming a very small campus.

For those of you here in New York City... YES! Weather-permitting I'm gonna be back in Central Park on Saturday afternoon, cranking up around 1:00.

.

And for everybody in NYC, and across the country and around the world -- I've gotta share something with you today that is just ridiculously fun for me.

Here's a video on YouTube, shot across the ocean by a young gun named Niklas in Holte, Denmark. He sent me an email asking for the chords to "Talk Louder: The Cell Phone Song" as well.

After you watch it, would you click on the link and share it with others around the world. I'd like to get this guy's "views" up around the country and around the world... just... because.

This really made me smile.

.

I would love to hear Niklas cover songs like "Keep Hope Alive", "Crazy on the Same Day" and "Next Time Around", too. Here's the link to the YouTube page if you would like to leave a comment. Maybe we can ask Niklas to cover some more of my songs! Seriously... you'll probably make him smile if you take a minute to send a supportive comment, especially all of you here in New York City!

NOW!!!!

Did you guys see yesterday's update?

Click on this banner to check out a VERY special update...
something I think you will feel really good about being a part of.

Then...

Would you click here and give whatever you can? We're using the link to "The Permit Fund" to make it easy.

GIVE DODGER THE FINGER FUND

We'll just use the same method as the "Permit Fund" okay? And we'll get the money to Dodger as soon as we can. We can jump all over this I think, so I'm just gonna leave this up for this week. I'll throw what I can into the fund, but it would make my heart sing if I wasn't alone.

(Hey listen... seriously. Don't feel bad if you can't give or if you just don't wanna. Times is hard all around for everybody! But if you can, it would be great!)

.

Moving on!

We had another amazing day last Saturday... and a friend of mine figured out why "The Hill" was so filled with so many people as late as 6:00. After a typically hot, summer day in August, once the Sun drifted behind the San Remo on Central Park West the weather was perfect. The feeling was perfect. Each moment was perfect. but the entire day was amazing... as the always are.

WEATHER-PERMITTING -- I'll be back out there this coming Saturday. If you're gonna be around NYC, hope I see your face out there in the park.

Maybe we'll talk all about this stuff on Broadway one of these days. While we're singing and laughin' through this show, it'll certainly be about Love and Reason and Principle. We're still looking of the right person to direct the piece. This is what we're trying to do. Maybe it's time to reach a larger audience!!!! Maybe on Broadway!

In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it. I'll be inviting all of you to another one of those small, unplugged work sessions very soon, so keep checking back. The last 2 filled up in a matter of hours.

Here's a little 10-minute video from Tony and his wife... explaining the project.

And here's a link to visit if YOU wanna be a real part of this process.

Welcome to all you newcomers! WELCOME to you if this is your first time here at the website! I hope you bookmark it and check back every day. It's become a very fun, very under-the-radar little New York Secret. You can always keep up with the cool stuff that's goin' on around me and my music and all the amazing people in this circle of friends and fellow-artists.

You can always go back and browse through THE ARCHIVE as far back as you wanna go. I mean... thanks to my friend, my webmaster, and resident evil genius James Marino, you can historically go back through this website all the way back through the Bush years right up until the present. It's really kinda freaky how much content is here on this site.... cartoons, free songs, Photoshop images. Very cool.

This year's PHOTO GALLERY will include lots of great images from out season inCentral Park.

VIDEO TIME

Here's a fun song... inspired last year by America's fascination with Bristol Palin, an unwed mother and attention hound who was suddenly being called a "star" on a national TV show... a song I wrote and debuted at "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" last December.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
