Welcome to the website.

If you're here in town, I've got some news further down the page about a really, really sweet little gig I'm doing TOMORROW NIGHT that I think you'll really wanna be a part of. (Further down the page.)

.

Here at the website we're in a new week. Out the other side of a rainy couple of days. I mean... record-setting rainy days! I'm already keeping my fingers crossed that we're gonna get all the rain systems through New York City by Saturday afternoon so we can hang together and share another amazing day like we did this past Saturday in Central Park.

Welcome to any first-timers and newcomers around here at the website. I sincerely hope you guys bookmark this page and check back every day. There's always cool stuff goin' on around here... and I'm sure it's gonna start getting more and more interesting in the coming months as more and more incredibly silly, inane and scary people start to run for president.

.

I'm tellin' you. Most of these people runnin' around Iowa are gifts to people who write comedy. But, the scariest bunch might actually be the evangelical right-wing Republicans who will vote for them!

We'll see how it all goes in the months to come.

.

But for today...

We're not thinkin' about them. We're all about music, and laughs, and Reason, and Life, and Love... and music!!!

These were some pretty cool photos taken on the moment that a whole bunch of people got up and started skipping to one of the cover tunes I play out there. They were taken by Alexandra Steedman through a fisheye lens.

And these were sent in by a guy who's been sending his photos all summer... David Hayase.

OKAY NOW...

TOMORROW NIGHT!!!

.

Wanna let you guys know about something very special. Like so many things, it's not something that I do for money. No one involved in this makes any money.

I like to be a part of it because it's really amazing. And it's coming to New York City!!!

If you've been coming around here at all, you know that earlier this year I flew to Florida to play some music at an event for the Baseline Wheelchair Tennis Foundation. Well, next month these amazing people are doing a demonstration of the game on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

It's a really, really good thing to do with an evening. There's an open bar, hors d'oeuvres and I play music for a while. But the really wonderful thing is watching this demonstration by these amazing athletes and knowing that you're a part of bringing this kind of thing to so many who have been rocked by this kind of physical injury. (Many are returning vets from these wars we've been waging.)

Click here for all the information.

.

Let's all throw $35 at this event and go hang out to do something really Good.

Y'think? My pal, Sid Bernstein, the man who Brought The Beatles to America said he'll meet me there tonight and autograph some posters from The Beatles 1964 concert at Shea Stadium. It's be cool to get your hands one one of those!!!! But you'll be helping a really worthwhile organization at the same time.

.

Won't that feel good? This event is actually a really fun, fun thing to be a part of. Oh, and BTW -- donations to Baseline are tax deductible!

Bob Waldman is the man at the helm of this event. Good guy. You can see him on my album cover "I Love the Company"! Give him a call and make sure you get a ticket to this thing. (And bring some friends!)

Hell, it's a Wednesday night and it's over by 8:30!!! And honestly... it will do my heart good and make me smile to see you guys showing up for something like this!

.

I'LL BE BACK TOMORROW WITH LOTS MORE PHOTOS FROM THIS PAST SATURDAY IN CENTRAL PARK! (Maybe you're in one of them!)

.

Rock on!!!

.

Y'know? Music is most often a "mirror" to help reflect the world around us. But sometimes it's also a "hammer" to help shape the world around us. Both ways... it usually feels great if you're doin' it right!

We're still looking of the right person to direct the piece and we could still use some help financially. We've raised about $20,000 for the workshop but could probably use about another $5,000 to get it on it's feet. So... if you're inclined to help (Or you're one of those people who just has too damned much money and wants to put it to good use!) ... this is what we're trying to do. Maybe it's time to reach a larger audience!!!! Maybe on Broadway!

Okay now you can find out how YOU can be a part of this new project here.

In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it. I'll be inviting all of you to another one of those small, unplugged work sessions very soon, so keep checking back. The last 2 filled up in a matter of hours.

Here's a little 10-minute video from Tony and his wife... explaining the project.

And here's a link to visit if YOU wanna be a real part of this process.

Welcome to all you newcomers! WELCOME to you if this is your first time here at the website! I hope you bookmark it and check back every day. It's become a very fun, very under-the-radar little New York Secret. You can always keep up with the cool stuff that's goin' on around me and my music and all the amazing people in this circle of friends and fellow-artists.

You can always go back and browse through THE ARCHIVE as far back as you wanna go. I mean... thanks to my friend, my webmaster, and resident evil genius James Marino, you can historically go back through this website all the way back through the Bush years right up until the present. It's really kinda freaky how much content is here on this site.... cartoons, free songs, Photoshop images. Very cool.

.

This year's PHOTO GALLERY will include lots of great images from out season inCentral Park.

VIDEO TIME

Here's another beautiful moment on a hot, hot summer afternoon in Central Park when a girl named Frankie asked me if she could sing a great George Harrison song for the crowd. One of the things that really touched was the way a few hundred people sounded... so gently singing "do-do-do-doo" to help out in the sweetest way.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
