Yesterday had a different feel... and yet it always feels exactly the same.
What I mean is... when I'm hangin' out with all of you by The Lake in Central Park, I always feel like I'm home. I always feel like I'm doing exactly what I'm meant to be doing with my life at the moment. I always feel the Oneness. I always feel so, so, so lucky.
But yesterday was special in a slightly different way that I'm finding difficulty putting into words.

So, maybe I won't try. Maybe I'll just say...

.
REALLY... JUST A GREAT DAY!
I mean, if you were there you know what I'm talkin' about. We sang, we laughed like we always do. Then...

Here's the first batch of photos from yesterday.

A PHOTO
I shared this on Facebook the other day, but I thought I'd share it again today for any newcomers. I'm so glad you guys show up here at the website and that you've hung out with me in Central Park over the years. And I think it's so cool that I've met the fellow artists I've met along the road. Before we get into today's update, I just wanna share... a photo that was taken by publicist Laura Manske just this past Saturday that pretty much tells the story of how proud I am to be sharing a microphone with Miss Teresa Reynolds.

Yep. She's one of the good ones fo' sho.
This might be my favorite photo from Central Park in a long while. Actually, if you look at the expression on my face in this photo, it's probably pretty much the same every time I share a stage with Teresa... or George Wurzbach, or Ryan Cavan, or Nelson Montana, Dave Marcus, Chris Tedesco, or Dodger Bartlett. I mean it. What a feeling of gratitude I get every time I get to make music and have some laughs with people like this. In fact, in regard to this Broadway project I always say that if a door ever opens for me, I'm gonna stick my foot in it and we're all gonna scoot through!
Moving on.
.
Okay... about the Broadway Project.
I'm just about at a new place where this little "Broadway" piece will really begin to come together. Now I'm just in the "dating" process... to find the right director/co-writer/co-creator to bring this thing to life.
Seriously. This is getting exciting.
But then again.... it's what I do. This is the kind of stuff that makes me live. Creating something where there was nothing. Y'know? Following the next inspiration. Taking the next chance. Y'know?
There is no song. Now there's a song.
There is no play. Now... there's a play.
Again, thank you to all of you who participated in the work sessions a few months ago that helped flesh this thing out. The more I run this idea and this project passed other Creative spirits, the more I begin to realize it's potential to say something good. I have a feeling it's time now to find the right person to direct this show. It's gotta be someone who really "gets it" and has an exciting vision for it.
Here's a video from Academy Award-winner Tony Walton and his wife. they "get it" and this guy has more Tony Awards than I have socks!
My feeling is, it's not enough for a show like this to be good... it also oughta be good-for-something.

I'm really enjoying all of your comments about the newest songs, so keep 'em comin'! This was the LIVE debut of this next song in December here in NYC.
For you guys again today... the entire concert..."The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" is here for you to watch. Go make a pot of coffee. Pour yourself some tea or a nice glass of wine and sit back and watch this thing. Plug in some headphones or some earbuds if you feel like it. You can actually jump around and watch different parts o the show.
We had such a great time again this year in that theater!
(The audio got a little funky during Teresa Reynolds' Christmas song... but I'm do everything I can to fix that sooner than later. Check back.)

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
