Okay, quick question...

Do you know where one of the coolest places is in the world?

There are a lot of cool places all over the world, for a lot of very different reasons. But on a 100 degree day in the middle of New York City, one of the coolest places to be is sitting on "The Hill" in Central Park on a Saturday afternoon.

It's a different kind of cool.

Even when the Sun is beating down, and my face is melting onto the top of my guitar and I'm wiping sweat out of my eyes... damn! What a great time I'm having. It's Summer. It's New York City, It's you guys! It's music. It's magic.

We had another typically amazing day yesterday!

THANK YOU to every single one of you who showed up!!!

.

Seriously, after the bizarre week we had around here, seeing your smiling faces was exactly my Spirit needed. Y'know?

Funny... even though it was 100 degrees, a bunch of the "Regular Hill People" had a running water-fight most of the day. The young people from ETGAR showed up and hung for a while. Teresa Reynolds and I had just as much fun as we always have, singin' a bunch of new songs for you guys.

Here's a tiny batch of photos from the lens of publicist Laura Manske who was out there in the heat taking pictures for the website again.

.

I'll be back tomorrow and probably all week with some more. I know David Hayase was out there with his camera again. Maybe we'll even have some video to show how much magic it's possible to whip up in the middle of an oppressive heat wave.

Y'know, honestly -- what a very cool thing it is I get to do with my Life and my music. I'm so, so grateful to every single one of you who are reading this right now... every single person who's ever hung out with me even once in that park. It means so much to me to know that there are people who "get" what my music and my stories have to say to the world. It reminds me... I guess, it reminds all of us that we're not alone and that there are others who "get it".

Y'know what? I always say that when you do what you love for a living, when you do what I do for a living, every day of a Life is a vacation day and every day is a work day. So I think filmmaker Dean Love and I are gonna shoot a pitch video for an idea we've been kickin' around for an interactive, internet TV show called "THERE". But besides that... I'm gonna take it real easy for a couple of days.

The I'm really getting to work on a couple of things... one of them is this new Broadway project.

In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it. I'll be inviting all of you to another one of those small, unplugged work sessions very soon, so keep checking back. The last 2 filled up in a matter of hours.

Here's a little 10-minute video from Tony and his wife... explaining the project.

But for today... I'm just gonna kick back and hold onto that feeling I brought home with me from Central Park yesterday.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
