Gotta start with the same old question.

Who's the luckiest man alive?

Well, okay... who feels like the luckiest man alive?

Yeah... me.

.

.

Well, we know we won't be singing the Sun down tonight in The Village. First Summer in about 9 years we won't be doin' that on a Friday night. (Mighta been a rain out anyway.)

But that just makes our Saturday afternoon in Central Park all the sweeter... if that's even possible.

.

I've had a really interesting time of it the past couple of days. But, I'm hoping that some of the recent fog in my Life will be lifting, and I'll begin to feel like a "possibility-junkie" who's beginning to see some possibilities more clearly!

Funny the way it goes.

Y'know? When people say, "Well, everything happens for a reason." ...now I know what the reason is.

.

.

.

Because... it happened.

.

.

.

.

That's it. That's as simple as it gets. I wrote in a recent song called Any Other Way:

Now I now there was a calling and a reason to be true
To this purpose ever since I was a kid
Being free means "free to do exactly what I'm meant to do"
And every single thing that happened, had to happen... 'cause it did!

.

The thing is... as a human being, sometimes when there's a disturbance in The Force and I have NO idea what caused it... it can get a little maddening. Just gotta let it go, I guess.

Dassit!

Gonna make that today's FREE download:

ANY OTHER WAY

Oh, and y'know what?

A fan all the way in India named Akshayan contacted me through Facebook and I promised I would make this song a free download just for him.

THE RELIGION SONG

I'm telling you, the world is getting to be a very small campus!

I'm working on so many cool projects with so many wonderful artists. Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Dean Love's got more good ideas than any one man should have. Gettin' to take a run at something fun with an amazing musician and colleague named Karlus Trapp. Gonna start talking to George Wurzbach, Ryan Cavan, Nelson Montana, Dave Marcus, Chris Tedesco and the exquisite Teresa Reynolds about a bunch of upcoming things.

I'm thinkin' that my buddy, Dodger (Roger Bartlett) might make it out to Central Park again with his axe this weekend. He was Jimmy Buffet's lead guitarist for years. It's always cool... always great to make music with him. And, of course, Teresa's gonna be sharing the... well, not the stage... um... sharing the... um... sharing the mulberry tree with me again tomorrow.

Got a good, good feeling about tomorrow. I hope you make it out to hang with me. If you've never been out there with me before, here's a little map to show you exactly where I've been hangin' out with my guitar and few thousand friends every Summer weekend for the past 20 years. You can click on this image for a larger, printable version.

If you're like me and you're not fighting traffic to get to the beach, I hope I see you out there in the park!

Now tomorrow is gonna be HOT again! But not nearly as hot as last weekend. I think itl;s gonna be a perfect day. And "The Hill" is covered in shade from about 2:00 on. And there's usually a little breeze off The Lake. So, might be one of the sweetest places to hang in Manhattan tomorrow.

We had another amazing day a couple of weeks ago. Were you there?

Welcome to all you newcomers! WELCOME to you if this is your first time here at the website! I hope you bookmark it and check back every day. It's become a very fun, very under-the-radar little New York Secret. You can always keep up with the cool stuff that's goin' on around me and my music and all the amazing people in this circle of friends and fellow-artists.

You can always go back and browse through THE ARCHIVE as far back as you wanna go. I mean... thanks to my friend, my webmaster, and resident evil genius James Marino, you can historically go back through this website all the way back through the Bush years right up until the present. It's really kinda freaky how much content is here on this site.... cartoons, free songs, Photoshop images. Very cool.

.

This year's PHOTO GALLERY will include images from the outdoor season. It'll keep growing as we go along. Maybe you'll see you smiling face in there if you've hung out with me this year.

And here's the gallery from last Summer!

NOW! About that "Broadway" thang!

Maybe it's time to reach a larger audience!!!! Maybe on Broadway!

Okay now you can find out how YOU can be a part of this new project here.

In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it. I'll be inviting all of you to another one of those small, unplugged work sessions very soon, so keep checking back. The last 2 filled up in a matter of hours.

Here's a little 10-minute video from Tony and his wife... explaining the project.

And here's a link to visit if YOU wanna be a real part of this process.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
