I need to say before anything else today... the very best thing that came out of this past week and all the crap from that bunch of nincompoops over at Hudson River Park is that... well, I was reminded once again what amazingly good people I have in my Life and out there diggin' my music.
So, sincerely... THANK YOU ALL!
I'm really lookin' forward to puttin' my guitar on my shoulder and hangin' with you guys in Central Park. Keep your fingers crossed for the weather.... hopin' that, at the very least, a small front moves through the area tonight and breaks this 100 degree spell. Kinda hopin' any summer thunderstorms come through tonight and get outta here by tomorrow.
With all the silliness that went on around here earlier this week, I really think you guys are gonna be a tonic for me. Lookin' forward to one of those typically amazing days.
.
But if you're new to all of this and you're checking in today to see what time I start playing the Sun down tonight on Pier 45...
.
.
Nope.
I ain't makin' music in Hudson River Park anymore. I guess you could say they fired me. Because... um... they did.
But y'know? While I never would have expected to want that gig to end... as it turns out, it's actually a really good thing that I'm not playing music for them anymore. In the last couple of days and after the hundreds of emails I've received, it's become amazingly obvious that the management of Hudson River Park couldn't care less about you guys.
Turns out, there is a man at HRPT who makes these decisions and is responsible for all this nonsense. (Not printing his name today.) I don't know him personally, and I don't even remember meeting him... so for his sake I hope this is an aberration. But in his letter of response to many of you, this man has gone beyond dishonest and unprofessional... and crossed over into "silly" and "small".
So this is definitely for the best.
That's the way it goes sometimes. If you're late to this party and you wanna know what this is all about...
Let's just move on and we'll leave any unpleasantness behind us.

The End
**********************************************
.
Time to look forward to the rest of the summer in Central Park, and "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" in December.... and, of course, the Broadway project -- Possibility Junkies. (More about that further down the page.)
But for tomorrow, it's back out to Central Park.
Last time I was out there we had one of those Golden Days... and I'm having exactly the same feeling about tomorrow. I don't know why. I just feel like we're really in touch with "The Force". Y'know what I mean?
Music - Laughs - Fun - Goodness - Love - Rock n Roll - PEACE
.
Damn!
.
.
Now tomorrow is gonna be HOT! But "The Hill" is covered in shade from about 2:00 on. And there's usually a little breeze off The Lake. So, might be one of the sweetest places to hang in Manhattan tomorrow. Besides, Teresa Reynolds is definitely gonna be singin' with me out there again.
We had another amazing day a couple of weeks ago. Were you there? Well, I'm gonna get out there tomorrow and see what happens... again.

Oh hey!
I added all of the photos from last weekend to this year's Photo Gallery. So check it out and see if your smiling face is in there. (Or someone else you know!!!)
If you're new you can always go back and browse through THE ARCHIVE as far back as you wanna go. I mean... thanks to my friend, my webmaster, and resident evil genius James Marino, you can historically go back through this website all the way back through the Bush years right up until the present. It's really kinda freaky how much content is here on this site.... cartoons, free songs, Photoshop images. Very cool.
And the Photo Galleries just keep growing. (Maybe you're in there!!!).

AND HERE'S A REALLY FUN GALLERY FROM LAST SUMMER!!!

BTW -- "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" is booked for Saturday night, December 10th. I know it's early, but I wanted to let you know if you're one of those people who travel down from Buffalo, or in from Pennsylvania, or Maryland, or Germany just for this gig.
The internet has made the world a very small campus and that's a really cool thing. Mostly, if you check back at this website every day, I hope you feel that... "It's Just Us" feeling. You're not alone.
In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it. I'll be inviting all of you to another one of those small, unplugged work sessions very soon, so keep checking back. The last 2 filled up in a matter of hours.
Here's a little 10-minute video from Tony and his wife... explaining the project.
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
