Welcome to the website.

For all of you who braved the heat to hang with me this past weekend...

Thanks Again.

.

Just wanna let the newcomers know that I'll add your email addresses to the BIG list this week so I can keep you up-to-date on all the really cool things that are always happening around me and the beautiful people with whom I get to work! Y'know? Even though it was about a million degrees out there, you guys were just the tonic I needed to cure some of the ugliness that came down last week. (I have something special to say about that right now.)

TURNING CRAP INTO SOMETHING REALLY WONDERFUL. (It's easy.)

That crap that came down last week from the Hudson River Park "sunset" gig was pretty ugly. That's life sometimes. So many of you wrote letters on my behalf and on behalf of courtesy and respect. I thank you so much for that.

But y'know what I think might be the best way to get that sour taste out of your mouth? (And I mean this with my whole heart.)

Wanna let you guys know about something very special. Like so many things, it's not something that I do for money. No one involved in this makes any money.

I like to be a part of it because it's really amazing. And it's coming to New York City!!!

If you've been coming around here at all, you know that earlier this year I flew to Florida to play some music at an event for the Baseline Wheelchair Tennis Foundation. Well, next month these amazing people are doing a demonstration of the game on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

It's a really, really good thing to do with an evening. There's an open bar, hors d'oeuvres and I play music for a while. But the really wonderful thing is watching this demonstration by these amazing athletes and knowing that you're a part of bringing this kind of thing to so many who have been rocked by this kind of physical injury. (Many are returning vets from these wars we've been waging.)

Click here for all the information.

.

Do me a favor.

To help counter all that negative energy generated around here by David Katz and the people at Hudson River Park last week... let's all throw $35 at this event and go hang out to do something really Good.

Y'think?

.

Won't that feel good?

That way, we're directly turning the energy from people who just don't "get it" into something really positive and Good. And this event is actually a really fun, fun thing to be a part of. Oh, and BTW -- donations to Baseline are tax deductible!

Bob Waldman is the man at the helm of this event. Good guy. You can see him on my album cover "I Love the Company"! Give him a call and make sure you get a ticket to this thing. (And bring some friends!)

Hell, it's a Wednesday night and it's over by 8:30!!! And honestly... as much as I appreciated all the email I got about getting fired, it will do my heart good and make me smile to see you guys showing up for something like this!

.

I'LL BE BACK TOMORROW WITH LOTS OF PHOTOS FROM THIS PAST SATURDAY IN CENTRAL PARK! (Maybe you're in one of them!)

.

Rock on!!!

BTW -- a few weeks ago, arts reporter Stephanie Simon of New York-1 News aired a little piece she did about our 20th year in the park.

So welcome to all you newcomers! WELCOME to you if this is your first time here at the website! I hope you bookmark it and check back every day. It's become a very fun, very under-the-radar little New York Secret. You can always keep up with the cool stuff that's goin' on around me and my music and all the amazing people in this circle of friends and fellow-artists.

You can always go back and browse through THE ARCHIVE as far back as you wanna go. I mean... thanks to my friend, my webmaster, and resident evil genius James Marino, you can historically go back through this website all the way back through the Bush years right up until the present. It's really kinda freaky how much content is here on this site.... cartoons, free songs, Photoshop images. Very cool.

.

This year's PHOTO GALLERY will include lots of great images from out season inCentral Park.

And here's the gallery from last Summer!

NOW! About that "Broadway" thang!

Maybe it's time to reach a larger audience!!!! Maybe on Broadway!

Okay now you can find out how YOU can be a part of this new project here.

In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it. I'll be inviting all of you to another one of those small, unplugged work sessions very soon, so keep checking back. The last 2 filled up in a matter of hours.

Here's a little 10-minute video from Tony and his wife... explaining the project.

And here's a link to visit if YOU wanna be a real part of this process.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
