Were you out there with me this past weekend?

What a great time we had! Just like every other warm weekend for the past 20 YEARS! Just a really amazing thing... but so typical on a beautiful patch of green in the middle of the greatest city on the planet.

People from all across the country and different parts of the world, all hangin' out and singin' together for a day. Just a very, very cool thing.

Now, yesterday I alluded to a situation with the Special Events Permits. Well, I wanna let you all know... I got contacted by a good guy over in the permit office and it looks like we're good to go for this coming Saturday and then again on the 18th and the 25th. Just gotta get the actual paperwork from them and the Sound Device Permit from the NYPD and we're all set... depending on the weather, of course.

Good?

Just gonna miss June 11th with you guys at "The Hill". But we have an alternative as it works out. (Further down the page.)

But first...

HERE'S ANOTHER BATCH OF PHOTOS FROM THIS PAST WEEKEND.

So listen, this year I'm adding photos to the new gallery as we go along instead of waiting until the end of the season. So here's the link to this year's gallery so far.

.

BTW -- the "year end concert is booked for Saturday night, December 10th. I know it's early, but I wanted to let you know if you're one of those people who travel down from Buffalo, or in from Pennsylvania, or Maryland, or Germany just for this gig.

And as always, if you're lookin' for a whole bunch of photos to see what it is we do out in Central Park every year... if you're new here and you need a little catchin' up... for any newcomers, you can check out this little Photo Gallery from last summer's outdoor season... in Central Park and down on Pier 45 in the Village.

You can always hit THE ARCHIVE and catch up with what's been going on.

Now I mentioned that we didn't get a permit to play in Central Park on Saturday, June 11th. But, it's kinda cool the way this works out. Next week we begin "The Sunset Concert Series 2011" on Friday night June 10th. (More about that later this week.)

OKAY!!!! Now about the newest project!!!!

In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it. I'll be inviting all of you to another one of those small, unplugged work sessions very soon, so keep checking back. The last 2 filled up in a matter of hours.

Here's a little 10-minute video from Tony and his wife... explaining the project.

THE (entire) DECEMBER CONCERT

For you guys again today... the entire concert... "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" is here for you to watch. Go make a pot of coffee. Pour yourself some tea or a nice glass of wine and sit back and watch this thing. Plug in some headphones or some earbuds if you feel like it. You can actually jump around and watch different parts o the show.

We had such a great time again this year in that theater!

(The audio got a little funky during Teresa Reynolds' Christmas song... but I'm do everything I can to fix that sooner than later. Check back.)

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
