Well, this was a dreary, weird little weekend weather-wise here in town. After a string of head-melting, sweltering, hot days last week we had two rainy, chilly days this weekend that felt like school was starting tomorrow.

But we did manage to get "Sunset on the Hudson Concert Series"underway. Very cool. Really good, good way to kick off that series. Teresa Reynolds came down and sang a whole bunch of songs. I'm hoping she feels like becoming a regular at both the sunset concerts and at "The Hill" every Saturday afternoon this summer. It's a joy to sing with her.

And the good news today is... I AM GOING TO BE HANGIN' OUT BY THE LAKE IN CENTRAL PARK THIS COMING SATURDAY! Got a video from"the Hill" that I pulled out of The YouTube ARCHIVE for you here today, further down the page.

Before I get to today's update -- it's a new week. Sometimes on a Monday wonder where the pinball is gonna bounce... in the pinball machine in which we live. I wonder if I'm gonna have a new verse or a new song by the weekend. It's really fun wondering. Right now I just have one question for right-wing America about Sarah Palin and the people who think like her and feel about life and America the way she does.

Just one question.

.

Ha! What will it take before every single person in America realizes that she's a fuckin' idiot and nothing more than a self-centered, money-making camera junkie.

Okay, now back to the good stuff. Palin might be a camera-junkie, but around here we're all about possibility. We like to call ourselves "possibility-junkies".

We're all set with the permits for this Saturday, June 18. I know a lot of you check in here from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. But if you're gonna be anywhere in or around The Big Apple this weekend, I hope you stop by and hang for a while... share some music and laughs... share another uniquely New York experience in the middle of the most amazing city in the world.

This year's PHOTO GALLERY will include images from both the Central Park gigs and "Sunset on the Hudson Concert Series".

BTW -- "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" is booked for Saturday night, December 10th. I know it's early, but I wanted to let you know if you're one of those people who travel down from Buffalo, or in from Pennsylvania, or Maryland, or Germany just for this gig.

The internet has made the world a very small campus and that's a really cool thing. If you bookmark this page and check back every day, you might find you smile more than you don't and you also might find some things to think about.

Okay now you can find out how YOU can be a part of this new project here.

In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it. I'll be inviting all of you to another one of those small, unplugged work sessions very soon, so keep checking back. The last 2 filled up in a matter of hours.

Here's a little 10-minute video from Tony and his wife... explaining the project.

And here's a link to visit if YOU wanna be a real part of this process.

VIDEO TIME

Here's another fun, fun moment on a hot, hot summer afternoon in Central Park when Chris Tedesco just showed up top jam on a few songs. We did an old cover song.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
