Hey!

Wha' happened!?

How come I'm still here!?

Wait, how come you're still here reading this!?

.

.

.

.

Oh shit.

.

.

.

.

Didn't the "End of the World" start... was yesterday the "rapture", did the earthquakes happen, did Jesus come back yesterday... and we missed the train?

.

.

.

No.

But I'll tell you what did happen yesterday. The Sun came out in New York City. The grass and the trees looked flush with new life. People were smiling. We began our 20th year together sharing music and laughs in Central Park.

.

DAMN! What a f*cking day!!!!!! (I can say that now because... well... because... well, YOU weren't "saved" either!!!!

If you were out there with me yesterday I can only start of today by saying THANKS AGAIN!!! Seriously, I'm such a lucky man. What an amazing way to start off a new season!

. . .

Thanks to Laura Manske for sending the photos to the website. I hope I'll have more photos and video all week.

Welcome to the website!

If you're new here, I hope you bookmark this page and check back every day. There's always something going on. I'm gonna post photos from yesterday afternoon here all week so maybe you'll see your smiling face here at the site. You can tell all your friends and family in different parts of the country or different parts of the world to check it out and share your day here in town. If you're a New Yorker, I hope I see you all summer.

Y'know? If you live somewhere else, I hope you check back every day and hang onto a little piece of The Big Apple. The world is getting to be a very small campus and that's a very cool thing. 20 years... and yesterday was a good way to begin a new season.

Oh, oh, oh!!! Y'wanna see something really ridiculous!?

A few years back, a wonderful director named Bob Giraldi (Who directed a bunch of Michael Jackson's videos and many other things.) cast me in the very first of a series of TV commercials. It was actually kind of a ridiculous spot, but everybody recognizes it. Well, after one of the historic events o the last two weeks, the spot was kind of re-cast by Jay Leno of The Tonight Show. And guess who got replaced!!!!

And guess who replaced me!!!!

Uy! My life is soooooo weird!!!

.

.

Actually, it's an amazing ride. And Now after 20 years of being "That Guitar Man from Central Park" a bunch of friends and colleagues have convinced me that it's time to try to tell a story in a whole new way for a much larger audience.

I'd love it if YOU wanted to be a very real part of this project. I'll be telling you more about it all week. We're getting ready to do another LIVE work session for this project and if you're gonna be in town you might be able to sit in for FREE. (More about that in a minute.)

First...

TODAY, once again let me share the video from Academy Award-winner Tony Walton and his wife.

We're trying to put a theatrical piece together that, hopefully, will be a positive thing.

THE (entire) DECEMBER CONCERT

For you guys again today... the entire concert... "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" is here for you to watch. Go make a pot of coffee. Pour yourself some tea or a nice glass of wine and sit back and watch this thing. Plug in some headphones or some earbuds if you feel like it. You can actually jump around and watch different parts o the show.

We had such a great time again this year in that theater!

(The audio got a little funky during Teresa Reynolds' Christmas song... but I'm do everything I can to fix that sooner than later. Check back.)

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
