What're you doin' today!?

Memorial Day Weekend! Very cool. This is one of those weekends when many of the really annoying people have gone to The Hamptons! So if you stayed in town, or you're visiting here from another part of the country or another part of the world, I really hope I get to just hang with you and relax this afternoon in Central Park.

This is my 20th season as "That Guitar Man from Central Park".

Holy shit!

An entire generation. I've been standing by The Lake and sharing music and laughs with you guys for 20 years. And for some reason, today I feel really... really good about that.

TODAY!

We're gonna have a really sweet day out there. Got the new sound system workin' last week. Saw a whole bunch of the faces I've missed so much over the winter. Gonna be great to see a bunch more. Beautiful day... I can feel it already.

It's just us.

So I'll crank up around 12:30 and we'll just see where the day and the music lead us. If you're new to all of this, here's a little map that will help you find us in New York City's beautiful 843 acre backyard.

Hey, here's the new banner for the 2011 Photo Gallery. I'm just gonna keep adding to it as the Summer "outdoor" season goes on. If this 20th year is like the previous 19 that I've been singing in Central Park, by the time we get to "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" in December the gallery oughta be quite a collection of smiles and moments.

BTW -- the "year end concert is booked for Saturday night, December 10th. I know it's early, but I wanted to let you know if you're one of those people who travel down from Buffalo, or in from Pennsylvania, or Maryland, or Germany just for this gig.

This past week I think we found our director for the new project. As soon as I meet with her again, and I introduce her to George, and maybe set up a meeting with her and Tony Walton... I'm gonna introduce you guys to her. I've been holding off booking the next work session until I had an idea if this wonderful woman was on board for the ride. It looks like she is. So I'll let you guys know when you can reserve a seat at that thing if ou wanna be a part of this development process. (The last 2 work sessions filled up in about 4 hours!)

In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it. I'll be inviting all of you to another one of those small, unplugged work sessions very soon, so keep checking back. The last 2 filled up in a matter of hours.

THE (entire) DECEMBER CONCERT

For you guys again today... the entire concert... "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" is here for you to watch. Go make a pot of coffee. Pour yourself some tea or a nice glass of wine and sit back and watch this thing. Plug in some headphones or some earbuds if you feel like it. You can actually jump around and watch different parts o the show.

We had such a great time again this year in that theater!

(The audio got a little funky during Teresa Reynolds' Christmas song... but I'm do everything I can to fix that sooner than later. Check back.)
