A whole bunch of you are always checking in from a different part of the country or a different part of the world. Here in the U.S., we are in a 3-day holiday weekend.
This weekend I stayed in town like I always do and headed out to Central Park with my guitar. I'm tellin' you.... that first day I showed up by The Lake in 1992 I had NO idea that I'd be doing this every Memorial Weekend for the next 20 years!
Really very cool.
If you were with me on Saturday afternoon, what can I say except...
Thanks again!
What a great afternoon. I had a lot of laughs. I'll be posting photos and video from our days out there all Summer. And I'm adding them to this year's Photo Gallery as we go along. So you'll be able to check in here an then share the afternoon in Central Park with your friends and family across the country and around the world.
Publicist Laura Manske was out there with her camera again. So here are just a few from this weekend to get us started. I'll post more all week and eventually they'll end up in the BIG gallery.

(Oh yeah... and yes. The beard went away for the summer.)

And so... welcome to June.

Y'know what? I always say that when you do what you love for a living, when you do what I do for a living, every day of a Life is a vacation day and every day is a work day. So I think filmmaker Dean Love and I are gonna shoot a pitch video for an idea we've been kickin' around for an interactive, internet TV show called "THERE". But besides that... I'm gonna take it real easy for a couple of days.
Now, recently I've met with a handful of wonderful, Creative people who were interested in directing the workshop of the new stage project. All of them are amazing people and all of them are artists with whom I'd like to work. But I kinda new right away, from the moment I met with this one person, that she was the right person to direct this thing. I plan to meet with Holly-Anne again this week. Lookin' forward to that. As soon as I meet with her again, and I introduce her to George Wurzbach, and maybe set up a meeting with her and Tony Walton... I'm gonna introduce you guys to her. I've been holding off booking the next work session until I had an idea if this wonderful woman was on board for the ride. It looks like she is. So I'll let you guys know when you can reserve a seat at that thing if you wanna be a part of this development process. (The last 2 work sessions filled up in about 4 hours!)
In a nutshell, we're putting together something that we hope is headed for Broadway or... Jupiter... or... I don't know. But it's gonna be done someplace. Broadway legend, TONY WALTON, a man who has more Tony Awards and Academy Awards than I have socks, is behind it 100%... so now it's just about getting the right team together and working it. I'll be inviting all of you to another one of those small, unplugged work sessions very soon, so keep checking back. The last 2 filled up in a matter of hours.
Here's a little 10-minute video from Tony and his wife... explaining the project.
But for today... I'm just gonna kick back and hold onto that feeling I brought home with me from Central Park yesterday.

For you guys again today... the entire concert..."The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" is here for you to watch. Go make a pot of coffee. Pour yourself some tea or a nice glass of wine and sit back and watch this thing. Plug in some headphones or some earbuds if you feel like it. You can actually jump around and watch different parts o the show.
We had such a great time again this year in that theater!
(The audio got a little funky during Teresa Reynolds' Christmas song... but I'm do everything I can to fix that sooner than later. Check back.)

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
