I don't know. It seems to me that here in New York City, May has become a month of "April Showers".

It's all cool. We got a great day on Saturday in the park to kick off year #20 at "The Hill". (Oh yeah, well the sky opened up and the driving rain came just as I was heading home with all the new equipment. But y'know? Over my lifetime I've learned that every single time I've gotten soaking wet.... I've gotten dry again eventually.)

But... we're back.

If you were out there in Central Park with me on Saturday -- THANKS AGAIN!

I think this year I'm gonna start the Photo Gallery early. In the past I've usually posted all the photos from the summer at the end of the season. But I might as well start a special page now so that you can always go back and check to see if you're shining face was captured by the camera of publicist Laura Manske or one of the other people who send photos into the site. If you've got photos you wanna submit, just hit the contact button over there and send them along.

Here are a few more shots from this past Saturday, May 21

Oh, and yesterday I headed back up to Da Bronx and watch The Yankees bats finally wake up and put a god spanking on that team from out in Queens. But we had a lot of fun with the Mets fans who were in our section. All good. Just a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

.

All in all... a pretty "kick-ass" weekend.

Gotta say, I discovered after-the-fact that I must have been a little anxious about using the new equipment in the new 20th season, because my back and neck were about as tight as concrete on the way home. But I'm loosening up today, just thinkin' about the day and seeing all the faces I've missed over the winter... even people I've never actually met.

I'm a lucky man.

Actually, it's an amazing ride. And Now after 20 years of being "That Guitar Man from Central Park" a bunch of friends and colleagues have convinced me that it's time to try to tell a story in a whole new way for a much larger audience.

I'd love it if YOU wanted to be a very real part of this project. I'll be telling you more about it all week. We're getting ready to do another LIVE work session for this project and if you're gonna be in town you might be able to sit in for FREE. (More about that in a minute.)

First...

TODAY, once again let me share the video from Academy Award-winner Tony Walton and his wife.

We're trying to put a theatrical piece together that, hopefully, will be a positive thing.

THE (entire) DECEMBER CONCERT

For you guys again today... the entire concert... "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" is here for you to watch. Go make a pot of coffee. Pour yourself some tea or a nice glass of wine and sit back and watch this thing. Plug in some headphones or some earbuds if you feel like it. You can actually jump around and watch different parts o the show.

We had such a great time again this year in that theater!

(The audio got a little funky during Teresa Reynolds' Christmas song... but I'm do everything I can to fix that sooner than later. Check back.)

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
