Welcome to the website.

Gotta say "Hey" to all of you who are checking in from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. Here in New York City... Man! Spring is here.

Unfortunately, we're gettin' a little bit of a late start on the "outdoor" season this year. The first permit issued by The Parks Department is for Saturday, May 21. But don't sweat it. It's gonna be another amazing Summer.

I feel really good about things these days. Writing songs and telling stories is what I'm meant to do with this Life. And here comes another season in which I'm gonna get to do it for thousands of New Yorkers and people who visit here from across the country and around the world. I'm a very lucky man.

OKAY LISTEN! This next thing will make NO sense to you. I promise. It's something that I hafta get to one of my sisters for my niece's wedding tomorrow. It's a long story. But...

Irene! Here it is. Just click on this link!

For any newcomers, let's start off with a little Photo Gallery from last summer's outdoor season... in Central Park and down on Pier 45 in the Village.

HEY! Before I tell you about the event I attended last night in regard to the theatrical project we're workin' on, I wanna share this with you guys.

I just started my own channel on Will Ferrell's "FUNNY or DIE" site. (No, there's nothing really there yet. I just uploaded my song "Stupid Country" as my first video. Thought I might as well start off with a little hate-mail!)

But while I was there a happened upon this video and I gotta tell you... while this guy's impressions are all good, his Morgan Freeman impression is flawless and laugh-out-loud funny to me.

Okay... LAST NIGHT!

I sat in on an event hosted by producer Ken Davenport that was billed as kind of a "speed dating" night for directors and writers to get their projects together. I showed up not knowing what to expect, but it turned out to be a really fascinating experience.

Now, I've never dome anything like this before. Maybe no one else has either. It's actually a very innovative idea that Davenport came up with. It was suggested going into this thing that I try to come up with an "elevator pitch" to describe this project... but y'know what I found out last night?

With this show... it's impossible. It's very difficult to describe in a few words and I'm hoping that it will be equally difficult for an audience to describe when we get where we're going with it.

Y'know?

It would the the best thing in the world if people were asked about it after having seen it, and they replied, "Um... it was.. um... oh, you just hafta see it!"

And the more I work on this stuff, the more excited I get about what we're going to do.

I mean that.

I'll be telling you guys more this week. But I can tell you that this week I will be scouting out another theater to do one more work session with a LIVE audience. If you were at one of the first 2 sessions, you know what I'm talkin' about. But this one will be a little bit tighter, a little closer to the eventual shape of the piece... and I'm thikin' it would be helpful and fun if Teresa Reynolds and George Wurzbach were on stage with me.

Once again let me share the video from Academy Award-winner Tony Walton and his wife.

We're trying to put this thing together, and hopefully, it will be a truly positive thing.

You can actually jump around and watch different parts o the show.

We had such a great time again this year in that theater!

(The audio got a little funky during Teresa Reynolds' Christmas song... but I'm do everything I can to fix that sooner than later. Check back.)

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
