Welcome to the website...

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

.

.

.

Today, as every day, I'm remembering my own Mom with a heart filled with gratitude. I also hafta start by wishing a sincere and heartfelt "Happy Mother's Day" to all my sisters... and to women who are mothers of every kind... to their own children, to someone else's biological children, to my adopted "Jewish mother", to all my adopted mothers!

In general... just wanna honor the "mother instinct", no matter how in manifests itself in a woman's Life.

The next thing I hafta do is use this site to answer a bunch of email I've gotten over the last 24 hours.

Yes it was a beautiful Spring day and NO... I wasn't in Central Park yesterday. We weren't given the Special Events Permit need to begin the season. In fact, the first permit isn't valid for two weeks. So weather-permitting, I'll be seeing you guys for the first time on Saturday, May 21.

After that, it's anybody's guess how often the permit office is gonna allow us to hang together at "The Hill". (Yes, the promise made by administrator Doug Blonsky in 2000 was for one day a weekend. We'll see how that holds up this year.)

.

I'm spending the weekend editing the audio files we recorded with my buddy, Sid Bernstein, for the new theatrical project.

And the more I work on this stuff, the more excited I get about what we're going to do.

I mean that.

I'll be telling you guys more this week. But I can tell you that this week I will be scouting out another theater to do one more work session with a LIVE audience. If you were at one of the first 2 sessions, you know what I'm talkin' about. But this one will be a little bit tighter, a little closer to the eventual shape of the piece... and I'm thikin' it would be helpful and fun if Teresa Reynolds and George Wurzbach were on stage with me.

If you're new here and you need a little cathcin' up... for any newcomers, let's start off with a little Photo Gallery from last summer's outdoor season... in Central Park and down on Pier 45 in the Village.

If you're new around here, you can always hit THE ARCHIVE and catch up with what's been going on around here.

.

TODAY, once again let me share the video from Academy Award-winner Tony Walton and his wife.

We're trying to put a theatrical piece together that, hopefully, will be a positive thing.

THE (entire) DECEMBER CONCERT

For you guys again today... the entire concert... "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" is here for you to watch. Go make a pot of coffee. Pour yourself some tea or a nice glass of wine and sit back and watch this thing. Plug in some headphones or some earbuds if you feel like it. You can actually jump around and watch different parts o the show.

We had such a great time again this year in that theater!

(The audio got a little funky during Teresa Reynolds' Christmas song... but I'm do everything I can to fix that sooner than later. Check back.)

Here are a couple of different fun galleries to check out.

Thanks for everything.

Peace ☮

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
