Hey... with every day that goes by, we're getting closer to hangin' together again in Central Park and down on Pier 45 in Hudson River Park for this year's "Sunset Concert Series". Havin' a lot of fun with this new project I'm workin' on these days for a potential trip to Broadway. I'm hoping that YOU might wanna be a part of the whole thing in a very real way. (More about that in a minute.) And I'm also lookin' forward to beginning my 20th season as "That Guitar Man from Central Park" in just about a month from now.
Summer's comin'! Just to get you guys in the mood for summer... here's a little bit of a Fall Classic!!! (I know. I know. That makes almost no sense.) But IT'S BASEBALL SEASON!!!!
So here's a little video from The Yankees most recent win in the World Series.
Click and have fun getting in the mood!
If you're new here you might wanna take a few minutes to browse the ARCHIVE to see what's been going on around here -- AND take just a minute to look through the photo gallery from last year's outdoor season in both Central Park and at "The Sunset Concert Series" in Hudson River Park.

Y'know?
I was thinkin' that it would be best to keep this whole process a little bit in the dark until we're ready to do the actual workshop.
Now, of course the entire band will be on stage and a part of this really fun ride. But these little work session we did over the last 2 weeks were just acoustic, unplugged run-throughs of some ideas and possibilities.
I THINK WE'RE GONNA HAFTA DO AT LEAST ONE MORE OF THESE FREE SESSIONS! (So keep checking back and I'll let you now when you can email to get on the guest list!) Hope you guys wanna be a part of this project. And also keep checking back so I can let you know where and when the actual "workshop" is gonna be.
Again -- thank you to all of you who showed up at the theater to be a part of the audience of the first 2 sessions. You were truly of enormous help.
The most important thing I learned from some of the comments I heard on the way out of the theater the other night... is that this piece has already got something to say. It's got heart. It's got "balls" already and I think it's gonna be a very cool, and a very fun thing. Now, it is not possible for everyone to "get" a message or the feeling an artist wants to get across in a piece of work. And if something like this makes some people uncomfortable... well, that's a very good thing, too. Y'know?
If most people smile, laugh, sing, relate and are comforted by a music theater piece like the kind I want to create, that's a good thing. But if others who live in a specific reality are made to think, or even squirm a little...then I'm definitely doing my job.
Here's a link to the IndieGoGo page where we're still trying to raise the money to pull this thing off.

And yes! Last week I sent in the contract with Hudson River Park for this year's "Sunset concert Series" on Pier 45 at in The Village. So yeah, from June until August we'll play the Sun down in the west. Gonna be sweet. I love this town!

I'm really enjoying all of your comments about the newest songs, so keep 'em comin'! This was the LIVE debut of this next song in December here in NYC.
For you guys again today... the entire concert..."The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" is here for you to watch. Go make a pot of coffee. Pour yourself some tea or a nice glass of wine and sit back and watch this thing. Plug in some headphones or some earbuds if you feel like it. You can actually jump around and watch different parts o the show.
We had such a great time again this year in that theater!
(The audio got a little funky during Teresa Reynolds' Christmas song... but I'm do everything I can to fix that sooner than later. Check back.)

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
