Gotta start of today by saying...
THANK YOU!
To every single person who crowded into that theater last night! It was so,packed that we wound up putting a bunch of seats right on the stage. But that actually worked out better than I could have ever hoped.
Y'see, last night I did the first of 2 little, informal work-sessions to see what the hell we've got when it comes to telling the story of "That Guitar Man from Central Park" on a stage. (I'll get into that in a minute!)
Y'know what? For any newcomers, let's start off with a little Photo Gallery from last summer's outdoor season... in Central Park and down on Pier 45 in the Village.

This summer will actually be YEAR #20 of this whole thing!

OKAY!
LAST NIGHT --
What an interesting night we had together at The Producer's Club. I think I'm probably gonna post some video from the session as I review it this week. The idea was to get an idea of what will work and what won't as we move through the process of developing this music theater piece. I learned a lot, and I cannot thank those who showed up enough. Hope you had a good time, too. I'm gonna do another session next Saturday night, and then hopefully we'll all have a clearer view of the path.
If you wanna know what these work sessions area all aiming at, okay listen... if you just showed up here to find out what all the hoo-ha is about, this is a little 10-minute video explaining the ultimate goal, from Academy Award-winner Tony Walton and his wife.
We're trying to put a theatrical piece together that, hopefully, will be a positive thing.

Get the idea?
A whole bunch of fellow artists and friends have convinced me that after 20 years of being "That Guitar Man from Central Park", it might be time to tell the story in a different way for a much larger audience. Exactly how this thing is going to evolve is way beyond me at this point. Just kinda making it up as I go along.
And here's a link to the IndieGoGo page where we're still trying to raise the money to pull this thing off.

We'll be starting an "outdoor season" in Central Park for the 20th summer in a row in just about a month.
And yes! Last week I sent in the contract with Hudson River Park for this year's "Sunset concert Series" on Pier 45 at in The Village. So yeah, from June until August we'll play the Sun down in the west. Gonna be sweet. I love this town!

I'm really enjoying all of your comments about the newest songs, so keep 'em comin'! This was the LIVE debut of this next song in December here in NYC.
For you guys again today... the entire concert..."The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" is here for you to watch. Go make a pot of coffee. Pour yourself some tea or a nice glass of wine and sit back and watch this thing. Plug in some headphones or some earbuds if you feel like it. You can actually jump around and watch different parts o the show.
We had such a great time again this year in that theater!
(The audio got a little funky during Teresa Reynolds' Christmas song... but I'm do everything I can to fix that sooner than later. Check back.)

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
