There are just some days that remind us of what's important and what's little shit.
Love is important.
Pretty much all the rest is little shit.
For me, yesterday was one of those days. I'm not gonna go into why. That's not important. But I gotta tell you... feelin' really good today.
Okay, HEY!
In about 2 months I'm gonna begin year #20 being "That Guitar Man from Central Park". Twenty years ago on June 14th I headed out to the park with my guitar to make a little lunch money. And as that old saying goes...

.
The rest is really f*cking amazing history.

.
OKAY!
Now, before we get out there again we're gonna get to work on an amazing project of which I would love for YOU to be a part! Seriously... if you're reading this and you're gonna be in New York City on Saturday April 2 or the following Saturday, April 9... you can be in the audience for the first step on a possible journey to the Broadway stage. (I say "possible", because I am a "possibility-junkie".)
Welcome to the website.
For any newcomers, let's start off with a little photo gallery from last year's "outdoor" season.

If you've been coming around here at all you know about this new project we're workin' on. I'm hoping you feel like being a part of it, especially if you live in or around New York City and you've never been to one of my "indoor" concerts at Merkin Concert Hall or The Leonard Nimoy Thalia or any place like that.
This week I booked 2 nights in a very small theater on West 44th Street. Each theater only seats 60 people. If you want to be a part of this process, mark 2 nights down on your calendar... the first 2 Saturday nights in April. These shows will be FREE.
It's gonna be fun. Very cool and kinda interesting I hope.
Saturday, April 2 -- Saturday, April 9
But here's the thing.
Email me and tell me if you've never been to a show at Merkin Concert Hall. If that's the case, you get first dibs on coming to these one-night sessions. Bring a couple of friends who've never been to one of the indoor shows if you like. Just email me and tell me how many people are definitely gonna be there with you.

Each show will start at 7:30
Cool?
I know. I know. It's a different way of working. But I think it will be a way to create a live storyboard for the actual workshop. And you can sit in on them. In fact they're...
FREE.
Both of them will be in small theaters at:
The Producer's Club 358 West 44th Street(Near 9th Avenue)
What I'm gonna do is this... I'm gonna walk out on stage with my guitar and, hopefully, sing and tell stories and take you guys through the rough idea of what this actual workshop production is gonna be. If you feel like coming to either one of these, just shoot me an email here.
Now, I'm looking for an audience of people who have never been to one of my concerts at Merkin Concert Hall. If you've never been to one of those shows, please think about coming to this thing. It'll be fun. I promise.
If you HAVE been to one of my concerts at Merkin Concert Hall... that's cool. You can come, too. But please, please, please bring at least one other person who is new to all of this.
Let me know how many friends you're bringing... any number of people is cool, as long as some of you are first timers. I will put your name on the guest list at the door.

SO WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP THE PROJECT?
You are everything. Just like on "The Hill" in Central Park, none of this happens if you don't show up. The 3 most important things we need from you...
1. A generous donation of real money. (Yeah, like everything else... it's gonna take money to actually make it happen.)
2. Your suggestions about what you'd like to see in the show... which songs move you, which make you laugh, which songs and stories you think a Broadway audience will get the most out of and enjoy the most.
3. We need you to take it upon yourself to be a little Paul Revere-ish... take it upon yourself to spread the word about this project every day to friends and family. Make it your own. We need you to come up with Creative ideas to get the word out about this effort.

I'm really enjoying all of your comments about the newest songs, so keep 'em comin'! This was the LIVE debut of this next song in December here in NYC.
For you guys again today... the entire concert..."The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" is here for you to watch. Go make a pot of coffee. Pour yourself some tea or a nice glass of wine and sit back and watch this thing. Plug in some headphones or some earbuds if you feel like it. You can actually jump around and watch different parts o the show.
We had such a great time again this year in that theater!
(The audio got a little funky during Teresa Reynolds' Christmas song... but I'm do everything I can to fix that sooner than later. Check back.)

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
